In a bit of a shocker, "CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe, Joe vs. Punk II 2004" has advanced to the Round of 32 in the Cageside Seats Greatest Matches Tournament.
Well this is a bit of a surprise.
We've seen a pattern of higher profile matches coming out on top in the first round of the Cageside Seats Greatest Matches Tournament, likely due simply to the fact that they're higher profile. And that makes plenty of sense.
But sometimes it's good to see the lesser known, but still equally good, matches get their due.
That's what happened here, as "CM Punk vs. Samoa Joe, Joe vs. Punk II 2004" has taken out "Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair, WrestleMania 24" by a vote of 31-19.
