Bubba the Love Sponge has now responded to the $100 million lawsuit filed by Hulk Hogan on his radio show and, of course, he's burying his former friend and claiming he knew what the deal was with the sex tape all along.
Remember when John Cena filed for divorce from his wife and the initial reports stated it would get ugly, really ugly, before it got better? Well, that turned out to be a load of bologna but at this point it seems safe to say the situation involving Hulk Hogan and his sex tape with Bubba the Love Sponge's ex-wife, Heather Clem, is going to get as ugly as was promised the Cena divorce would get.
First, the tape managed to find a way to the public eye via sources no one yet knows for sure. Hogan and his lawyers quickly threatened legal action but when officials told them that wasn't happening, his next best move was to file lawsuits.
Now, TampaBay.com has a story up on Bubba responding to the lawsuit on his radio show and as noted previously, this thing is probably going to get really nasty.
Clem disputed Hogan's assertions indirectly this morning, saying his former friend "drove me crazy" asking to have sex with his wife. The shock jock also accused Hogan of trying to save his public image and endorsements by trying to appear like the biggest victim.
"The true victim here is Heather," said Clem, referring to his ex-wife, who was recorded having sex with Hogan in 2006; clips of the video were eventually posted on Gawker.com. "I made a mistake in approving him to get together with my wife...There were three people in that room, and they all knew what time it was."
Bubba can only say so much, apparently because of his divorce from Heather, as well as the pending lawsuit, but he's already scheduled to appear on Howard Stern's show tomorrow. Things being what they are, that could be a disaster waiting to happen.
What a mess. And all just to videotape one friend nailing another friend's wife.
