On this date in WWE history: Sheriff Austin vs Triple H on RAW
So what do you do when you can't wrestle anymore but still get one of the loudest pops in the locker room? If you're Stone Cold Steve Austin, you become the C-General Manager of Monday Night RAW, or in this case, the "Sheriff" of professional wrestling.
Sound silly?
It was, but when you're "The Rattlesnake," you can pretty much get away with any gimmick, which is why he can ride around on an ATV in shorts with a tin badge pinned to his shirt.
Not even a promo by Triple H, which was 100-percent true, could deter the "Toughest S.O.B." from going down in flames (sorry Trips, but you can't bury everybody). What adds to the angle is the fact that Austin is playing middle man in the feud between HHH and Shawn Michaels.
Check it out, after the jump.
We wouldn't see much of Stone Cold on TV following 2004, but what did you think of one of his last gimmicks?

It was good, the huge payoff off Team Austin vs. Team Bischoff at Survivor Series was great.
I enevr understood why someone like Triple H (A student of the game) would bury so many people when his position and long term future was set in stone when he set his sword into Steph’s stone

That and he was the wheelman to the Kliq. I’m sure you ahve heard/listened to many stories of how Nash/X-Pac/Michaels/Hall kept him around cuz they needed someone to get them to point a to b.
Bad habits passed on and because you hardly hear anyone applaud him as a person. A fucking bully in many ways.

That, or, like Hogan
His concern first and foremost is always “his spot.”
