WWE announcer Jim Ross makes cameo at Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game, makes ESPN Sportscenter sporting new goatee

Good old J.R. rocking the goatee like a boss.

It's always good to see Jim Ross doing something in a legitimate sports setting where we know he won't be booked to do ridiculously stupid things for the sake of those who enjoy watching him flounder.

That's why it was a nice surprise to see good old J.R. pop up on ESPN's Sportscenter telecast after his cameo appearance at an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game just last night. Ross tweeted about it shortly after:

"Did my cameo on OKC Thunder TV Fox Sports Okla. Had a blast. Didn't get fired! Had a great time tonight at OKC Thunder game. Appreciate the hospitality.@okcthunder rocks! Great 60th. Got a Thunder jersey...#60. Cool."

The fact that he got the chance to call a Thunder game, if even for a short while, isn't the real story here. It's the fact that he's rocking an awesome goatee with the white on both sides.

On a side note, yes, it's a slow news day.

Thanks to Cagesider GutenDirk, video of Ross' appearance is now included after the jump.

Never thought JR would ever look cool but…there it is! Strange to say since the hair is white but it sort of rejuvenates him on top of giving him a more rugged manly look!

Woulda been cool if he did that at the end of a shot clock, shot… saying “That guy is STONE COLD, STONE COLD”… haha.. woulda been classic.

On a side note.. why doesn’t JR get treated with more respect in the sports world? I know he’s tried to pursue other gigs, why doesn’t he land them?

It's very obvious what has happened here...

This is Mirror Universe JR.

Time to spread a little chaos...

Ty for posting video of that.

While listening to it, I wished he had gotten a chance to do two minutes of play by play (not a chance, considering).

It would have been the best birthday present for him.
