Video: WWE Superstars from Jan. 19, 2012, featuring Alex Riley vs. Jinder Mahal

Here's the latest episode of WWE Superstars from Thurs., Jan. 19, 2012. The show kicks off with a solid five-minute match between Natalya and Tamina, who they've essentially repackaged as the female version of her father, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka.

Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins were beaten by the goofiest tag pairing of all time, Santino Marella and Mason Ryan. By the way, how happy are we all that Ryan is no longer a fixture on Raw?

The main event of the show is a short match between Alex Riley and Jinder Mahal, which Mahal wins with the Camel Clutch. I'm still convinced he can be a damn good heel if he's booked right. Having him win matches in this manner is one way to start pushing him there.

I agree about Mahal...

He’s just different than all the rest right now on the card. It might take him a couple years, but its ok.. we often want to rush people to the moon. Mahal can be a major player for a long while.

I like Mahal. I kind of wish he could have another gimmick than “rich Indian,” but at least that’s not a negative stereotype like the one they’ve given Hunico. I’d also like to see him use a different finish than the camel clutch. That move seems too outdated to me. I don’t really have a better idea, though.

Oh, by the way...

It was nice to see Natalya and Tamina get some more time for their match here. It’d also be nice if Natalya could get a win once in a while.

They should just start calling superstars 'Jinder Mahal Push Happy Hour'

Or forty-five minutes or whatever.

We’ve got a great main event for. Tonight, we’ve got the mysterious, devious, wealthy Jinder Mahal going up against a face who’s push ended long ago and has disappeared from sight aside from occasional jobs on Raw or Smackdown.

Don’t mind him, just sayin’.

Oh, I forgot to add punjabi to Mahal’s description.

I want Mahal to start squashing a bunch of FCW guys or jobbers every week.

But on SmackDown, not Superstars. If you want him to feud with Sheamus, fine. But build him up.
