Who is the mystery return man coming back to WWE tonight (Jan. 2, 2012) on Raw?

Is Chris Jericho making his big return on Raw tonight?

Back on Nov. 21, 2011, WWE started cryptically linking to videos on random YouTube channels that showed a kid in a classroom writing in a notebook. Creepy music played while a voice over delivered a vague message that a "familiar force would arrive on Jan. 2, 2012, to reclaim what is his."

For six weeks straight, a new video has been released. Now, the day has come for the mystery return man to finally reveal himself and you know what? We still don't have a damn clue who it's going to be.

All the top sources in the industry are continuing to say it's Chris Jericho but as the date has come closer and closer they've each seemed to back off just a bit more and more regarding who exactly it is. Why? Because even they don't know for sure. Undertaker is another name bandied about, of course, considering the treatment he gets for his annual rebirth for a run to WrestleMania to defend his streak. Even Stephanie McMahon's name has been mentioned and considering the fact that the videos started using a little girl alongside the young boy, it's certainly something to consider.

Plus, look at the shape she's in these days. Yowza. Her attempt at getting back in ring shape? Or just getting rid of any excess baby fat from her pregnancies?

All we can really do at this point is speculate and throw out whatever crazy theories we have. Because really, in the world of professional wrestling -- and more specifically WWE -- nothing is too crazy. So in that vein, here's my best guess as to just what the hell is actually going on:

Star-divide

The more I've watched the videos and broke down the text and thought it through, one thing that keeps popping into my head is Chris Jericho returning ... WITH Stephanie McMahon. The idea, of course, is that Jericho will return during the CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler match and either cost Punk his title or cause a disqualification. During the ruckus, it will be revealed that Stephanie is the one who is pulling the strings. The videos make it clear that the girl is the one in control and the boy is simply waiting for her to unleash him. In fact, in one of the videos the creepy kid with a thesaurus literally says the following:

"The question arose: when shall things be and what shall be the sign of my coming? He answered, 'When she tells us.'"

As to why exactly Stephanie McMahon would want to recruit Jericho to go after Punk, they could tie that in with the various times she seemed to randomly pop up on TV in short skits with "The Straight Edge Superstar" back when he was feuding with Kevin Nash and Triple H. If they really wanted to take it as far as possible, they could have her be the one behind everything. She could be the person who actually recruited Nash and is the person John Laurinaitis is texting all the damn time. Really, she could be the one pulling all the strings on Raw. Her going after Punk needs no more motivation than what Punk was doing to her father, Vince McMahon, before he took off.

And, of course, Jericho could get his big money match against Punk at WrestleMania 28 this year.

But that's just my crazy theory on this whole thing. What do you Cagesiders think? Agree? Disagree? Call me insane if you want but if you do, let's hear a theory of your own.

I'll give WWE some credit

The skits have managed to put alot of intrigue into who will be returning without painting themselves into a corner as to who it should be.

I really hope it something like Stephanie McMahon with Jericho. I think CM Punk needs a very strong heel stable with which to feud.

I think the “she” pulling the strings is Vince/Laurenitis. And I’ve always thought the return itself is of Jericho. I expect to see him return during the Punk-Ziggler match.

“Do you understand?”

I'd be in favor of this scenario

If for no other reason, at least we get a payoff to why the hell Nash was brought back
