WWE Survivor Series 2011 video promo for Nov. 20 event at Madison Square Garden featuring The Rock

As you can see and hear, WWE is still using purposely ambiguous wording to promote Survivor Series on Nov. 20, which will feature the in-ring return of The Rock. Will it be for an actual match? That's what they want you to think but it's more likely that he'll get involved physically, in some capacity, but won't actually go the full nine.

I mean, it would be a disaster if he did, right? Or do you think WWE would be best served to actually give him a match at the show? And if so, against who?

The Rock has 8 years worth of ring rust

I don’t expect him to tour heavily, but he does need to shake some of that rust off before WM28. I definitely think he should be involved in a match at SVS, preferably a tag match of some sort.

You don't think it would kill the heat

for his match with Cena at Mania?

Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.

He cannot wrestle. Period.

I agree.

Why?

Why can’t he wrestle? I fail to see how it would kill of the heat for his match with Cena at all. If anything putting him in a brief match or two between Survivor Series and WrestleMania will serve to whet the appetites of those actually looking forward to seeing the match.

All I’m seeing from people like you and Geno when I read articles on this site, be it in regards to The Rock or the CM Punk/Nash/HHH story is a bunch of smarky nonsense. What you people seem to forget is that you are the minority and for the majority of the fans out there seeing The Rock wrestle even a couple of squash matches won’t hurt anything but you’ll just go on pretending like it does.

Because I just had another thought...

It’s kind of cliche but who gives a shit. Put Rock and Cena in a tag team match together. They don’t need to go win the tag titles, but even just having the two of them together in a match pre WrestleMania will go a lot further towards building the match than 4 months worth of promos will.

You can't just return to the ring after that kind of layoff

Even if he’s doing stuff off-camera to get back in wrestling mode. Seems to me you’d have to schedule one match at least, just to show he can still do stuff. Put it on RAW (unannounced), have it advance the storyline, maybe have Cena cause problems…

Of course they won’t do that. Like The984 said, they’ll wedge him into a PPV to boosts ITS ratings, which shoots down the selling point of “Dwayne returns at WM”, but hey, that’s down the road.

What i want to know: Do they plan on having FaceCena vs FaceDwayne? I see no enjoyment there, even if I wasn’t an ardent anti-Cenite.
