Dr. Lucha - the original Sin Cara's job thought to be safe within Mexico

If you're wondering, the real Sin Cara is the one with his nose permanently stuck in the air, as it's so easy to get them confused. (Photo by slgckgc on Flickr)

Things are looking up for the original Sin Cara, aka Mistico, according to Dr. Lucha Steve Sims on his latest radio show with Bryan Alvarez for f4wonline.com.  The feeling within the Mexican wrestling community is that his job is fairly safe, despite his persistent attitude problems, because he's so much better at portraying the Sin Cara character than Hunico, unsurprising given he's the original, and he's the only guy charismatic enough to be able to keep the Cara merchandise sales so strong, which means WWE are stuck with him.

Hunico may not be so lucky.  WWE have been so disappointed with his most recent performances that the upcoming feud between the real Sin Cara (Mistico) and his impostor (Hunico) is expected to be a short one where the fraudster is quickly sent packing.  Hunico better cross his fingers and hope that the feud catches fire and he earns a reprieve, otherwise if he's lucky he'll get given a ticket back to Florida Championship Wrestling; if not, he'll be wished well on his future endeavours by the company.  Hunico is in a particularly bad spot because his future depends on Mistico making him look good, someone he had heat with in Mexico stemming from his losing legal battle with CMLL over the rights to the Mistico name.

The benefactor of Hunico's bad luck is rumoured to be Mistico's best friend and opponent in CMLL, Averno, as WWE is supposedly open to the idea of bringing him in again to feud with the real Sin Cara once he's done with the fake one.  In late May, reports surfaced that Averno had signed with WWE, after Mistico had hand picked him as his next opponent to feud with.  Triple H personally asked Mistico who he'd like to work with after his first feud with disgruntled veteran Chavo Guerrero went pear shaped.  The signing reports proved premature, as by the time Averno had dropped his mask to La Mascara at a CMLL super show and had finished all his dates in Mexico, Mistico Cara was in hot water for his failed steroid test, so the plans to bring Averno in were dropped.  Now they seem to be back on again, but I'm sure this won't be the last dramatic twist in WWE's backstage Sin Cara soap opera, especially if he comes back with his nose stuck in the air while failing to shake hands willy nilly.

Hmm

MistiCara (who should’ve done time in developmental) blows spots, has a bad attitude, and fails his drug test. He’s safe.
HuniCara (who was in developmental and should’ve stayed) blows spots, apparently has the right tude, and has so far tested clean. Not only might he not go back to dev, he might get future endeavored.
Averno gives up his mask (a big deal in Mexico) and causes no problems. Right now he isn’t even guaranteed a dime of E money.

Sounds kinda TNAish to me :-\
