On this date in WCW history: The Monday Night Wars begin with the debut of 'Nitro'
On this date in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) history, Monday Nitro makes its debut in the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
While it's hard to imagine the shopping mall show and "Pastamania" would pose even a remote threat to the boys in Stamford, Nitro actually went on to beat Monday Night RAW for 84 straight weeks.

I grew up on NWA/WCW
It was very sad-making watching it go to Hell :(

Always loved following the WCW, especially when Bischoff got control. And the billionare Ted era set forth. The best thing they ever did was give Bobby Heenan a job.
