WWE confirms The Rock will appear in Survivor Series tag match with John Cena
After The Rock tweeted an advertisement for Survivor Series 2011 that says he will team up with John Cena at the Nov. 20 event at Madison Square Garden in New York, WWE.com has gone a very interesting route and used its website to officially announce as much earlier today.
Here's the word:
WWE sources have confirmed that The Rock and John Cena will be a part of a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Tag Team Match.
I can't recall WWE using this method of delivering news before, especially something like this that would normally be reserved for a live announcement on Raw. Then again, it's an easy way to put out news that was basically already out there, not to mention get fans to go to the recently revamped WWE website.
Earlier today Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer brought word that this was the case and let on that the current plans are to have one team consist of Rock, Cena, CM Punk and Sheamus vs. a team that will likely consist of Alberto Del Rio, Miz, R-Truth and one other heel. They were under the impression it would be an eight-man match, so there are still two more holes to fill.
Those holes could be filled by returning guys like Big Show and Kane, who are both reportedly make their way back to action on this show. But if that's really the case, who the hell does that leave to fill up the rest of the card? I'm not sure these plans won't change big time by Nov. 20 but it looks like we'll get something like this.
While WWE hasn't officially confirmed as much, Rock is also reportedly set to return to Raw before Survivor Series and will do a couple shows before the pay-per-view, even if it's just a taped appearance like he did earlier this year.

I would take ADR out & put in HHH, only problem with that is if both Cena & Punk are in the match who does ADR face? Maybe Ziggler if he turns face or JoMo? Orton if he retains could face Rhodes or Barrett
As for the 5 on 5: Rock, Cena, Punk, Sheamus, & Kane or Big Show vs HHH, Miz, R-Truth, Christian, & Henry & we get a nostalgic ending with Rock beating HHH to end the show.
WOW. How do you give up your money angle before it even hits TV?
There’s no reason to watch now. You’d naturally want to see the progression and how it lead up to the match. It’s like seeing the Usual Suspects poster and it says “Kevin Spacey is Kaiser Soze!”
It’s also clear that they have already made the decision to banish Punk back to the mid-card. Anyone else lost their faith yet?
Well...
I pretty much lost faith a long time ago. At this point, I’m not raising my expectations about anything from WWE/TNA so that I won’t fall victim to disappointment. To be honest, it’s a mistake bringing the Rock back in the first place (as an active wrestler). They should’ve just teased Rock vs John Cena and left it at that, leaving people creating their own versions of this match in their heads. But instead, we got the apprehensive WWE taking in The Rock, possibly Stone Cold into their Wrestlemania event next year just because they aren’t confident in their own talents and doing some harm than good in meanwhile. At this point, all I’m seeing is WWE clumsily juggling this whole Rock vs Cena thing. I’ll be amazed if this whole angle comes out of Wrestlemania unscathed.

The big money angle is the match 1 on 1 match between Rock and Cena
I’d expect Rock to get some action in the ring to get him a bit warmed up for Wrestlemania down the road, but mostly I wouldn’t expect him to do anything more than a few spots.
And anyways, you could put the Rock on every PPV in a match between now and WM and you’d still see huge buyrates for WM, except every other PPV would have a big buyrate boost as well.
"In fact, most of these free-swinging Padres couldn’t hit Dock’s funky palm ball. I threw it often. But by then, also, the first acid distractions entered: the TV flickered; the cracks in the wall started to move; the hand soap started to breathe — those sorts of things. Plus I was drawn to the outdoor garden between innings. Rain was near, I sensed." - A.J. Daulerio

Because Punk isn't getting a team on his own. It has been communicated that the angle doesn't have the legs on it's own.
-In the past SS, you’d have two teams facing each other, with main participants of angles being the respective captains of such team, Ala Jake the Snake vs Martel, Hogan & Savage vs Million Dollar Team, etc. What they’ve shown here is that Punk is just a minor player on the team. His main angle isn’t good enough to stand on it’s own merits and deserve it’s own team.
Gawdamn..The Rock is huge in that picture.
Anyway, I hope this matchup does hurt the rest of the show.I do not want to watch two hours of garbage for the sake of seeing this tag team matchup
Wow, does that tag-team look crappy

That's some lazy booking
Survivor Series: Cena/Dwayne lose due to “miscommunication” between the two. This leads us to the Rumble-probably a straight tag match, Cena dumps on Dwayne, thus bringing us to WM and Dwayne’s revenge.
Release...the KITTIES!
Survivor Series Match
