World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) went from the little engine that could to a billion dollar industry, all thanks to Chairman and CEO Vincent Kennedy McMahon, who was born on August 24, 1945, on this date in WWE history.
At times as outlandish and unpredictable as the storylines he would create, McMahon was as much a larger-than-life character outside the ring as he was inside it.
"Vinny Mac" won the WWF Championship and ECW World Championship along with the 1999 Royal Rumble and worked one of the greatest programs in wrestling history against arch-nemesis "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
Anything was fair game, even his own kids, if it meant giving the fans what they wanted.
