Female MMA fighter, and all around hottie, Gina Carano has the lead role in Steven Soderbergh's upcoming action film, "Haywire". Although we don't see much real acting from Gina, she absolutely nails the look, and obviously, her fight scenes look stellar. Thoughts?

I like it.
Soderbergh takes chances with inexperience actors and actresses and makes it work. He did it with Sasha Grey. This movie could be his best work under that guise. I think Gina Carano will be better than some people think in this movie.
Yep, that’s how I feel about it. It’s an action movie, she’ll be able to cater to the people who want to see awesome fight scenes, so she will at least have the biggest base covered. I don’t think her acting will be all that bad either, she had plenty of talented people around her to help.

I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I find Jolie to be highly overrated…I’d take Carano over her in this movie any day, unless the acting is unforgivably terrible. I’ve got faith though.

Well, you’ve got more faith in her acting abilities than I do. The few scenes we see of her staring in the camera as though she was a deer caught in the headlights are enough to convince me that she’ll be horrible. The action scenes might be okay, but then again, with today’s stunt work, just about anybody can look great in action scenes, they didn’t need a former MMA fighter for these scenes. Which is why I think an actual actor would’ve been better for this type of movie, especially considering the solid group of actors besides her.
