Scott Coker announced today on the live Strikeforce media conference call that Gina Carano is injured and will not be participating in the June 18th Strikeforce event (Overeem vs. Werdum).

Coker said that he spoke to Carano's representatives today about the injury and withdrawal. According to Coker, the nature of the injury is still undisclosed, and it is unknown when she will return to action.

The withdrawal leaves Carano's original adversary, Sarah D'Alelio without an opponent. Coker said an announcement will be made by the end of the day regarding D'Alelio's status on the card.

To replace the Carano fight, the bout featuring K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal will be moved up from the HDNet prelims onto the Showtime main card.

Coker said he believes the Noons-Masvidal fight winner could be granted a shot at current LW champ Gilbert Melendez's belt, depending on the result and the performance.
