The Hatsu Hioki Countdown is officially over. After months of speculation, the UFC made it official today via its Twitter account:
FYI - guard-smashing savant Hatsu Hioki, a top-ranked featherweight, has been signed to the UFC roster. Welcome!less than a minute ago via web

Hioki is 24-4-2 over the course of his career. He is 27 years old, and has spent most of his career in Japan to date (three of his 30 fights were fought in Canada).
He holds notable wins over Marlon Sandro, Mark Hominick (twice), and Jeff Curran.
No official announcement has been made regarding who Hioki's first opponent will be.
