Coming out a week from today is a new TNA video game in the form of Namco Bandai Games' TNA Impact Wrestling mobile game. Apparently, this trailer for it has been around for a while on mobile gaming sites but I hadn't seen any wrestling sites pick it up until today:
Developed by Bight Interactive (who developed the mobile version of WWE Legends of Wrestlemania for THQ for 2009, so it may play similarly to that), it'll be available on iOS (as a universal app), Android, Windows Phone 7, Blackberry, J2ME, Java, and BREW. If you have any kind of modern smartphone, you should be able to play it. It doesn't appear to take advantage of the iPad 2's much-improved graphics processor, but new textures could be added in an update (which was done for a few higher end iPad games, like Infinity Blade).
I have no idea if it'll be any good, but it should be interesting to see if the lower mobile price point leads to more people buying this than Midway's TNA Impact for the current generation of game consoles, which did not do well in terms of sales or reviews. Hulk Hogan is in it, which is more than a bit weird to see since he's also in the recently released "WWE All-Stars" console game.
If any readers have played Bight's previous wrestling effort, I'm curious to hear how it was and how this game could improve on it.
