The UFC Goes Pro Wrestling With UFC 129 Trailer?

This UFC 129 trailer aired during UFC 128, and instantly I thought that it looked like a professional wrestling inspired trailer. Obviously, the story line is mostly true, nothing is really manufactured other than the part where Jake Shields watches from the crowd, then he and Georges St. Pierre have a stare down in the halls backstage. So you tell me, is this a pro wrestling inspired promo? Is this just clever marketing by Zuffa? Or is this trailer garbage?

I think it was just a great piece of fight promotion
I really like the style, and I like that UFC are going with more Hip Hop themes then Hard Metal themes. It makes it feel more modern with more reach. Metal culture is still a niche sub-culture, Hip Hop or Urban culture is more mainstream especially when it comes to sports and its ties with Basketball and Football.
Did you guys notice during the UFC 128 event that they had a promo for the Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley match?
The UFC has it’s eye’s on the prize and moving quite fast.
The University of Utah is off to the Pac-12 Conference and will be in the South Division. Hopefully we will get to the first ever Pac-12 Championship Game. Jon " Bones " Jones new light heavyweight champion. Even if jones got struck flush in the face he would recover and defeat whoever is in front of him. I told everyone the fight would be easy. Almost felt sorry for Rua. Anderson Silva would never fight "Bones".

I really liked this video. I saw it for the first time last night during the broadcast.
Does wrestling do promos similar to this one? I thought it looked a lot like some of the past UFC promos. I can’t tell the difference, but I haven’t watched wrestling in quite a few years…

I suppose they didn't have any video of Jake in action in this video
because they hadn’t finalized the SF deal by the time this trailer was made? I assume that they were working on it before hand, but I had to ask myself why they didn’t have any video of him.

It worked for me, but its not purely pro wrestling promotion
It seemed more like a shoe commercial to me. But it achieved its purpose of getting me fired up with flying colors.
I'm taking Shields at +300 to. I see a tapout in GSP's future.
The we can watch Anderson Silva get his ass kicked by Jon Jones? He would turn down that fight faster than Roy Nelson gobbling down a burger.
