UFC 128 Results: Spike TV Live Prelims Complete Results

Spike_tv_logo_medium

Beginning at 9 pm ET, live on Spike TV, we'll be treated to two free preliminary fights from UFC 128.  Luiz Cane will take on Eliot Marshall, and Anthony Njokuani will face Edson Barboza.  After the jump, we'll have complete results and commentary of the live broadcast.

Star-divide

Luiz Cane vs. Eliot Marshall - Cane def. Marshall by TKO, Round 1

Anthony Njokuani vs. Edson Barboza - Barboza def. Njokuani by Unanimous Decision.

Anthony Njokuani vs. Edson Barboza:

High level striking from both men in the first round, absolutely thrilling to watch.  10-9 Barboza for rocking Njokuani big time during the round.  The second round saw a much different Njokuani, who's hand speed and increasingly aggressive attack bothered Barboza.  Barboza had no answer for Njokuani, and lost the round 10-9.  The third round was yet another breathtaking display of stand up skills.  A close third round came to a finish just after Barboza landed a spinning heel kick to the head of Njokuani, rocking him.  I personally scored the round 10-9 for Njokuani, but the judges saw it differently, with Barboza winning a unanimous decision.

Luiz Cane vs. Eliot Marshall:

Cane sacrifices Marshall to the MMA Gods.  Cane dropped him with a left hand and an uppercut, and then rained bombs for a minute, then finally, the fight was called off.  These were some great prelims.  I'm thoroughly pleased.
