Hulk Hogan "apologizes" for Tsunami Comment

This Monday during the 3.17 Impact tapings, Hulk Hogan was quoted in multiple TNA recaps as delivering a line about wrestlers on the TNA roster "joining his tsunami."

Here's the classy apology via twitter:

The tsunami of wrestling wasn't cool,it will never air,it's already cut out,but when your cuttin promos old school and not following a Script like the other robots will no skills, sometimes you make mistakes. I'm sorry,I was on a roll and made a mistake.nothing but love and Total respect for Japan, but you guys already know that. I totally apologize. keepin it real HH4Life.Much respect, love for Japan HH

Does he seriously even have the capacity to not be an egotistical prick? Glad he's "keepin it real" though. Tangentially from the simple horrendousness of his comment, this whole episode reminds me of this old Kevin Cook posting about scripted promos from forever ago:

I don't understand this at all. Rock, Steve Austin, and Mick Foley, to name three, all got over just fine with scripted promos. Does anyone really want to listen to a bunch of drug-addled jocks "with the volume turned up"? Personally I'd much rather listen to a competently written, well delivered promo than Randy Orton's feverishly improvised musings on date rape, the pros and cons of Applebees and TGIF, and the inability of men of his generation to live up to the legacies of their fathers. If the problem is that promos are badly written and/or delivered, that's one thing, but bitching about scripted promos is just bizarre.
