[iMPACT spoilers] - TNA continuing to desperately hotshot for ratings
The March 3rd episode of Impact is set to be the biggest of the year so far, as TNA continues to hotshot in their continued search for record ratings. So how many storylines, stipulations and major matches are they going to burn through in one night this time? Well this is the huge shopping list that they've officially got lined up:
- The payoff to a vignette that is a complete ripoff of WWE's first vignette to hype The Undertaker's return for the 22 2 11 Raw. Who's coming to TNA on 3 3 11? Hmm, no prizes for guessing who that will be.
- Hulk Hogan finally returns to Impact.
- The court will make their decision that supposedly will end Dixie Carter's and Hulk Hogan's power struggle.
- Jeff and Karen Jarrett will renew their vows with Kurt Angle walking Karen down the aisle and promising he'll give them a wedding they'll never forget.
- Angelina of Jersey Shore will call out Jwoww (so famous that no-one knows their second names).
- Another celebrity, New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott, will appear.
- Yippee, yet another firing / retirement stip, as Velvet Sky puts her TNA contract on the line in a match with Sarita.
- Former teammates Matt Morgan and Hernandez collide in the first match in their feud together.
- Beer Money defends their TNA World tag team titles against Gunner and Murphy.
The big news coming out of the Impact tapings for March 3rd (see the Torch's coverage of the tapings for full spoilers) is that not only were TNA stupid enough to splurge a ton of cash on bringing back Sting, they made the mind boggling decision to put the World title on him in his first night back. As Bruce Mitchell said in his subscribers only radio show yesterday, poor dumb TNA were such marks for the Internet buzz over Sting possibly appearing in WWE for the first time ever and working one of the few dream matches left in the business with The Undertaker at WrestleMania that they have deluded themselves into thinking that that buzz will translate to Sting's return to TNA, despite Sting having worked for TNA for over five years and there being no dream matches left for him to work in that company. On the bright side, at least this gets their World title off the still under drug indictment Jeff Hardy.

TNA is like the old WCW
I dont keep up with TNA too much, but every time I see news on bookings or upcoming events it looks like the old WCW guard holding on to every last bit of power the have and still stopping young talent from rising. It also appears they rush every good call and eventually kill a good decision with poor execution.

Former WWE Exec Bruce Prichard...
Does anybody know what position former WWE Executive Bruce Prichard holds within TNA? I remember listening to his unflattering, but yet right on the money comments on his former Pod cast "Something to Wrestle With". Obviously he’s somebody who’s opinions should not only be held in high regard, but should be a difference maker due to his tenure in WWE. If anybody in TNA is listening?

Why wasn't this show live?
They should have gone live for this show. It might have made that very predictable surprise somewhat interesting. But alas we now have a week to pour over the spoilers.
I know wrestling fans aren't bright but Sting and TNA didn't steal anything!
First of all even WWE officials have commented that TNA did this on purpose to poke fun at all the “CONFIRMED” reports being released that Sting had signed with TNA. The wwe worship team, I mean fans, were freaked out acting like they signed Jesus.
Now they are hating on TNA for getting Sting and complaining it’s wcw; lol.
This is also ALMOST the EXACTLY same promo sting did in WCW when he first created his Crow character. Many time they would have lightning in the arena and a crow on the top part of the rafters.
TNA did exactly what is was supposed to do. Rub it in the face of the WWE.
WWE has their own issues. When you have a 62 year old man headlining a pay per view when he’s 2 1/2 years from getting Medicare, you’ve got some serious problems.
And WWE is the king of signing other wrestling companies talent.
HHH, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, CM Punk; Edge, Christian, and most of the superstar wrestlers were NOT WWE bread talent. Most were from AWA, WCW, and other factions.
I know Americans dont’ like history or facts much, but get a clue. WWE and TNA have issues; a lack of top line stars.
This American has a clue, Do you?
Maybe?, but they sure were going nowhere fast with those other organizations, that is until they joined a company (WWE) that had a clue in how to properly promote and market them! Ric Flair is on the record while a part of Crockett promotions, stating that if NWA/WCW had the marketing skills of WWF at the time they were running against them in mid 80’s with a talent roster that included 4 Horsemen, Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff, Lex Luger, Sting, R&R Express, etc they would have perhaps overtook, or strongly competed against McMahon. The stronger name talent was with NWA/WCW, but they couldn’t compete w/ McMahon’s marketing genuis. So while we all rag on WWE most of the time, u have to give the devil their due! TNA, is where they’ve been since 2002, in search of an identity. If you like watching a 62 year old man completely destroy what was at one time an indestructible legacy that’s up to you! Jerry Lawler while the same age as Flair, has definetly aged better, and can still mentor young talent, not embarass himself, or his profession when he climbs in the ring. This American appreciates history as well as talent. One knows how to push ttheir talent, the other after 9 yrs still doesn’t know how!
