On this date in WWF history: Big John Studd returns; quits the Heenan Family
And he does it on one of the biggest stages of all time (not really), The Brother Love Show, hosted by Bruce Prichard, the lobster-skinned preacher who loves yewwwwww.
On the December 24, 1988, edition of WWF Superstars, "Big" John Studd returns to pro wrestling after a two-year hiatus and when we last saw him, he was a heel under the tutelage of Bobby Heenan.
He was also feuding with Andre the Giant, but while he was gone, Andre turned heel, allowing Studd to come back and turn face by rebuking "The Brain's" welcoming committee and quitting the Heenan Family altogether.
Video, with surprisingly lackluster commentary by Vince McMahon and Jesse "The Body" Ventura, after the jump.
"Big" John would go on to win the 1989 Royal Rumble (entered at #27) before leaving the WWF (again) later that year.
How about it Cagesiders, where do you rank Studd among the all-time big men?

Yeah, McMahon and Ventura pretty much phoned that one in.
It would have been better if they had said nothing the whole segment (but not by much).
