Video: Kane attacks John Cena on Raw again -- where is this headed?
Here's the video from Raw last night (Dec. 19, 2011) of Kane returning once again to attack John Cena.
The set up and execution of this entire segment was great. First, Cena comes out and gets the chance to do his silly comedy promo routine, which certainly isn't my cup of tea but some folks like it, so it's fine. Then, Mark Henry comes out and delivers the line of the night by telling Cena he can kick rocks.
All of this leads to Kane coming back out to tease attacking Henry before turning his attention to Cena once again, for reasons that are still unexplained. Except he didn't really do much to attack him. Essentially, Kane incapacitated Cena so he could rip Cena's shirt off and take off to the back with it.
My early theory, as mentioned here, is that Kane can represent the embodiment of Cena's subconscious, and the reason he ripped the Rise Above Hate t-shirt off and walked away with it is that it's high time Cena stops pushing that line and finally does what Roddy Piper was suggesting on Raw a few weeks back and "squares up" with the audience.
That might be a little too deep for a pro wrestling show but it's what sounds best to me. Anyone else got a theory on why things went down the way they did?

I'll believe it when I see it.
This scenario seems too good to be true.
Kane attacks John Cena on Raw again — where is this headed?
Six months of awful Kane matches placed at a high profile with no heat. A few of those terrible matches will be with Cena.
Good thing...
You won’t be watching, am I right?

I'm looking forward to Wrestlemania.
But I sure as hell ain’t watching RAW, Smackdown, or any of the PPV’s if WWE’s idea of acceptable major angles is Cena vs. Kane, Miz in the main event of RAW, and the biggest jobber in the company winning the Smackdown world title.
Cena getting the Hogan vs monsters treatment
I just figured Cena will fill his time fighting monsters and big guys until it is time for The Rock to start being on Raw. Cena needs something to fill time that doesn’t involve the title. Overcoming the odds and fighting big men will keep his fans happy.

So Cena is Jane Eyre and Kane is Bertha?
Sounds about right.
Who is Rochester in this scenario?
Is it The Rock? Please don’t tell me that it’s Michael Cole!
I like to think that Cena is Walter Hartright and Kane is Sir Percival Glyde, if we’re going to use Vicorian Lit. comparisons. There isn’t any basis for that comparison except that it makes me laugh.
FIRE!!!
I was expecting Kane to burn Cena’s shirt on the stage last night. Since that didn’t happen, perhaps he has a special lady friend and it’s her Christmas gift.

I think that the article writer is spot on.
I also think that Mr. Mrosko continues to put too much faith in the abilities of Vince McMahon and a bunch of soap opera writers to utilize subtext effectively. You review this stuff for a living; you should know better!
Every feud Kane has been involve with in the last decade has been the worst thing about whatever show Kane was on.
When was the last time a Kane feud wasn’t terribly booked?
Name one Kane feud that wasn't awful.
Kane vs. Edge, awful.
Kane vs. Undertaker, awful.
Kane vs. The Great Khali, absolutely awful.
Kane vs. Rey Mysterio, Kane had an awful feud with Rey Mysterio.
Kane vs. Big Daddy V, do I even need to explain here?
Kane vs. The Great Khali, the worst Wrestlemania match of the decade, bar none.
Kane vs. Fake Kane, even worse than Undertaker vs. Undertaker.
Kane vs. Matt Hardy, Lita, & Gene Snitsky, so awful it made the Katie Vick angle look watchable.
Kane vs. Shane McMahon, awful.
Kane vs. Triple H, necrophilia.
Undertaker & Kane vs. WCW The Alliance, lost the industry more money than any other feud in history.
Kane vs. Big Show, the worst matches of 1999 that weren’t in a Cell.
Kane vs. Undertaker, awesome build, terrible matches.
Kane Fake Diesel.
Fake Diesel Issac Yankem.
Sure, he had three decent matches against Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Shawn Michaels respectively, but they weren’t good by Angle, Benoit, and Michaels standards. Name one Kane feud that didn’t make you hate life.
All the Kane vs. Undertaker matches were awful.
Sure, the feud was well booked back in 1998, and even 2004, but by the third go round, it was an utter disaster in terms of both booking and matches, not that the matches were every anything but terrible to begin with.
these are your opinions
these are not facts.
Maslow's theory of higher needs does not apply to Patrick Willis. He only has two needs: tackling people and finding people to tackle.
The buyrates and ratings for every major Kane program have been disastrous.
The only Kane program that generated a profit was his first feud with the Undertaker, and it took the entire roster jobbing to Kane in order to generate his mystique.
Undertaker and Kane’s dismantling of WCW lost WWE more money than any other feud in history.
The Kane/Triple H feud almost killed the company.
The Kane vs. Kane feud killed WWE Films out of the gate, and was so disastrous that WWE nixed the program almost instantly.
Kane’s Smackdown Title reign led to terrible ratings and awful buyrates.
What more evidence do you need?
Blah, blah, blah, Kane's horrible, blah, blah, blah...
I think we get your take on Henry and Kane by now. It has grown old and stale. There are plenty of other wrestlers you could focus your attention on. Please do.
And… because no one else has done it yet…

When other horrible wrestlers get pushes in relavent comapnies, I'll mock them.
Until then, I’ll stick with Henry and Kane.
Maybe he just wanted to check out some abs.
Someone had to say it.
