Pic: WWE superstar John Cena performs in Japan wearing Zubaz pants

Afobpaqcaae8m6l_medium

During WWE's recent tour of Japan, despite hailing from West Newbury, Massachusetts, John Cena decided to sport these San Francisco 49ers Zubaz pants. Why?

No clue.

The most plausible explanation is that he wanted to wear something with the native colors. The alternative, that he's actually a fan of this monstrosity, is far more troubling. Then again, we are talking about John Cena, everybody.

Thus concludes the least newsworthy item of the day. Fun, fun.

Props to SB Nation Bay Area and Cagesider sun yue.

Its The Rock's fault!

In seriousness, he should’ve just worn something with the Japan’s flag on it. Simple yet elegant. Or a pair of MMA shorts. Japan loves MMA, at least it used to love it.

Jesus

I’d rather see the jean shorts.

Every time I look at this photo

I stare for a couple of seconds, then say, “What the f*ck?”, and start laughing. I am really curious about the explanation behind this. Did someone steal all his trousers as a joke?

HA.

I’ve been doing the same thing on a loop for like a half hour. It’s incredible. He didn’t just go out in public wearing this, he performed a show as the center of attention. This fucking guy has no shame in anything he does. It’s almost admirable.

Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.

Should've wrestled in Misawa's tights, nevermind

Cena doesn’t even know who Mitsuharu Misawa is.

I’m told that it was in tribute to the gaijin wrestlers of the 90s

“He also sported a silver satin jacket from Tokyo steakhouse and noted wrestler hangout Ribera. His get-up was presumably an ode to the pictures that adorn the wall in the restaurant: late 80’s and early 90’s gaijin wrestlers wearing Zubaz track pants and Ribera swag”

Hey Now...

I still buy Zubaz. Screw fashion and the mindless sheep that have to be told how to look and act to be accepted. They’re too comfortable not to own.

I prefer the long tights look

So that’s pretty close.

And in other news tonight...Voltron totally got served.

I have those pants.
