That was awesome! (clap clap clapclapclap): Kane uses Rob Van Dam to demolish a cage
Professional wrestling lives and dies by convincing people that something is real when it's not.
That's why stuff like CM Punk's infamous pipe bomb promo this past summer and 1997's Montreal Screwjob are so fascinating. It challenges the preconceived notion that whatever you're seeing on your TV has been scripted and was planned well in advance.
As far as Punk's promo goes, it was what's known as a worked shoot -- a term for storylines or occurrences that appear to deviate from the script but actually don't. With the Montreal Screwjob ... well, I think we all know exactly how real that was.
If you have any doubts, check out Bret Hart's tears in the WWE Greatest Rivalries DVD that was released a couple of months ago.
But then there are times that can't be figured out. Today's entry is exactly one of those instances. I always wondered if what took place was actually planned or if something had gone awry. Apparently, I wasn't the only one.
Check it out.
Sometimes I wonder if wrestling fans are part of some kind of dorky zeitgeist.

Nah scripted i think.
Just wouldnt happen. They would make sure their cages are secure. This cage would have been tested before use.

I think it’s scripted as well. Although..I do like the one with Bob Lashley.

Scripted
RVD’s body would have had to be thrown correctly to hit the cage hard enough for him to fall through.
