Geno here. Broadcast is live.

Show opens with a WWE themed Christmas carol. Not bad, actually.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler ringside for commentary.

Vickie Guerrero's voice comes out of nowhere with a "Merry Christmas everyone!"

The boos are deafening.

She does a promo introducing Ziggler. Did his music change again? Cole calls him the longest reigning champion in WWE today. Immediately jumps into his first plug for Twitter, begging the fans to follow along and tweet, tweet, tweet your heads off. But remember to use #WWE.

Ugh.

Crowd is hot for Ryder but not as much as usual.

Ziggler starts off with a trip takedown and brushes his shoulders off. Does it again and wipes his hair off at Ryder. Zack responds with a couple armdrags. They do a spot in the corner with Ryder springboarding Ziggler into the turnbuckle. Dolph, of course, sells it like a god.

To the outside they do, with Ryder hitting a flip over the top rope. Nice spot. He follows it up with the woo, woo, woo fist pumps, which the crowd eats up and follows along with.

Ziggler regains control and once back in the ring, he hits a neckbreaker and starts showing off again.

Lawler asks why Ziggler doesn't just let everyone else acknowledge how good he is instead of showboating so much. "He's good, he's talented, why not let someone else say it?"

That's a perfect thing to say for his character. Lawler delivering early.

They stop talking about the match and now Lawler is saying it's a big deal to be the number one trending topic on Twitter. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you actually bother to look up exactly how trending topics are determined, you'll see that it means absolutely nothing.

At all.

Anyway, Ryder makes a comeback but it falls short with a suplex from Ziggler. Ensuing pin gets a two count.

Cole is killing Ryder on commentary while he makes another comeback, this time with a dropkick. They set up the kick in the woo, woo, woo kick in the corner, which Cole calls the "Broski Boot" and it hits. Pinfall attempt is quelled by Vickie, who puts Ziggler's leg on the rope.

The ref, of course, ejects her to the back. She's now banned from ringside.

Ryder tries a quick rollup after they restart but Ziggler pops out. They work back and forth and Ziggler gets a big dropkick that gets two. Tries to get up to the top rope but Ryder racks him. Follows it up with a hurricanrana and the ensuing pinfall attempt gets a big reaction from the crowd.

No dice.

He calls for the Rough Ryder but Ziggler sends him into the turnbuckle. Rolls him up and has the trunks but only gets two. Double knee from Ryder in the corner and Ziggler is dazed. Rough Ryder hits and 1-2-3, he got it.

Zack Ryder def. Dolph Ziggler to become the new U.S. champion

Ryder celebrates with his dad ringside like he just won the WWE title. Awesome emotion.

Cut backstage and Booker T is talking with Alicia Fox, getting pumped for his match. She screams while looking off camera and suddenly Rhodes pops in and starts beating him down. Security shows up for the save and they cut out.

Unadvertised match up next. And it's a title match. Ha. This is how little WWE cares about the tag titles.

Air Boom vs. Epico and Primo -- Epico starts with Bourne. If this is where they decide to have Air Boom drop the belts that would be amazingly bad booking. It will just confirm what we already know anyway, I guess.

Bourne tags in Kingston and they work some tag magic. Epico gets a tag and they attempt to double team Kofi but he squashes that with a double dropkick. Primo comes back strong with a chest slap. Springboard in the corner but Kingston lands on his feet and returns the favor.

Kofi travels with CM Punk, by the way. Apparently, they have some incredible adventures.

Kofi tags Bourne in and throws Primo into a hurricanrana. That was an awesome spot. The cousins double up, though, and catch Bourne after he jumped off the ropes. So what do they do?

Just chuck him outside. Through the ropes. Win.

They trade off working Bourne over while Rosa screams on the outside. Epico in and Bourne is just taking his lumps, getting dominated. He finally works a surprise roll up and shortly after counters off the ropes.

Both guys tag out and Kingston is in cleaning house. Off the top, hits Epico, drills Primo, does it again and hits the boot drop. Calling for the Trouble in Paradise but Primo gets away. Crossbody off the top rope and that gets two. Epico in for the save and Bourne comes in to send him out. Kingston hits the Trouble in Paradise a minute later and there won't be a title change tonight.

Air Boom def. Epico and Primo to retain the tag team championships

They go backstage and Josh Matthews is saying Booker T vs. Cody Rhodes is off as of right now.

Teddy Long in the back now dressed as Santa and decorating the tree. Hornswoggle shows up wearing an Elf get-up. Hornswoggle is complaining about being dressed ridiculous and bags on Long saying, "Since when is Santa black?"

Long's response: "No fat white guy would ever come down my neighborhood."

Uh, okay.

Long gives him a gift and it's a book on how to speak ebonics. Hornswoggle pops him. Derp.

Tables match up next.

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett -- Surprisingly, Orton comes out first and he gets a MASSIVE pop. Lilian Garcia intros him. Randall takes his sweet time getting to the ring because, well, we've had two matches and two different backstage segments and we're only just over a half hour into the show.

Barrett's either getting some great heat or they're piping in boos.

The crowd chants Randy's name as the match starts. They trade punches until Orton hits a backbreaker. He wastes no time going out for a table. Puts it up against the ring and Barrett kicks it into his face.

Not long before Orton returns the favor. Now they're on the outside and Orton is sending Barrett into the steel steps. Orton sets up a table outside the ring. Which is funny, because they brawl all the way up the entrance way, where like 15 tables are already set up. That is until Barrett inexplicably knocks a few down.

Barrett then goes for a suplex but gets reversed. He knocks a table out of the way, though and the two head back for the ring.

Orton teases a suplex off the steps and onto the table he set up earlier but Barrett reverses. They battle to the other side and Barrett lays Orton out just enough to set up a few tables. He puts Orton on top of one and goes to the top rope but Orton just gets up and moves away.

Ha. Nice one.

Barrett follows him over and keeps working on him. Back against the ring post. Sends him into the ring and hits a flying elbow off the second rope. They set up a spot through the ropes with Orton nearly falling through the table after a big boot but just barely avoiding it.

Barrett sets up a table in the corner and tries to send Orton through but it's comeback time. It doesn't last long and Barrett once gain attempts the big boot into the table through the ropes. Once again, he can't get it. Tries the Wasteland but that fails too. It sets up the draping DDT, actually, which Orton hits.

Fists pounding mat, time for an RKO.

Except Barrett pushes it away, which sends Orton to the previously set up table in the corner. He stops just short but turns right into a sidewalk slam.

Barrett takes a minute but throws the table down on Orton, who lays motionless.

Finally, Barrett sets up the table near the corner and puts Orton on it. Takes forever to get up to the top rope and when he finally comes down, Orton pops up and hits the RKO through the table for the win.

Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett

Because they need to kill time, Orton celebrates by walking around the ring and raising his hands. He looks lost but we're deep into this show and only an hour has gone by.

Backstage finally and the Bella twins are sitting on Santa's lap and bickering back and forth. Long says he's got a gift for them and gives them his phone number "in case you want to play any reindeer games."

They slap him and take off.

Jack Swagger shows up and starts running him down. He wants to know what Long is going to do about Henry hitting him with a steel chair on Smackdown. Long tells him, "nothing."

Then literally tells him to sit on his lap and they can work it out.

Sheamus comes into the picture and asks why Teddy was looking for him. Swagger interrupts and calls Sheamus a goof. They talk hard on each other and then staredown until Teddy makes the inevitable match for tonight.

Merry Christmas!

Another unadvertised match and it's another title match. This is embarrassing.

HA. It's the Diva's. Pee break time. I really do have to pee this time, not just being a smartass.

Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly -- The angle for this match is the fact that Kelly slapped Phoenix after Lita presented Kelly an award and Beth tried to take it at the Slammys.

Phoenix taunts her and puts her chin out, saying she can have a free shot. "Do it again, Kelly!"

She doesn't take the bait and after a long enough time, Beth goes for a slap of her own. Kelly ducks and responds with one of her own, which connects. Beth gets pissed and charges. Kelly ducks and sends her flying through the ropes.

They get back in the ring and Kelly is dominating this match.

Finally, Phoenix gets a reversal and starts killing Kelly. I hate the way Kelly sells. She literally starts crying and screams like a tennis player returning serve.

Quick rollup pin doesn't work. Facebuster. Back and forth they go and the crowd is just dead for this. I am too.

Phoenix goes to the top rope and tries a leg drop but Kelly moves. Beth sells with a shocked look on her face while holding her ass.

That was great.

They trade rollups again off Phoenix attempting the Glam Slam but the match ends quickly after a face plant.

Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly to retain the Diva's championship

Alberto Del Rio in the back complaining to Ricardo Rodriguez that he can't make a grand entrance if he doesn't have his car. Miz comes into the picture to NO response. Miz says the truce is over and Del Rio says it was never there. He was using Miz.

Miz says that's funny. He was used by a guy whose title reign was about as memorable as the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl run. Nice spot with the cheap heat grab.

Del Rio responds to him by saying he knows he's weak and he can't beat anyone up. He couldn't even beat up ADR's pool boy.

That was a solid exchange.

Promo for the Royal Rumble.

Booker T's music hits and he comes out like they're going to do the match. Then Rhodes runs down and assaults him and the medical staff comes out to take Booker to the back. Maybe the match isn't happening tonight.

Promo for the sledgehammer on a pole match no one wants to see.

Triple H vs. Kevin Nash -- I love it that Nash uses the old nWo black and white theme. That music is so damn legendary. Wow. A Trips chant breaks out between his music and Nash's and they pop pretty good for him.

As soon as the bell rings, they both attack. Nash with the early edge but Trips returns fire. Nash counters out with a knee to the midsection and he almost falls over after delivering it.

Oh god, this thing could get ugly in a hurry.

More brawling back and forth. Trips with a flying elbow off the ropes and that sends Nash out.

Trips with a big advantage now, sending Nash out into the crowd and over the barricade with a clothesline. He recovers and hits an elbow that allows him to get back inside the barricade. He picks Hunter up and drops him down on said barricade.

They finally get back inside the ring and Triple H is working Nash over with a ladder now, one of two that are inside the ring. Trips working over the knee by slamming the ladder down into it. Puts his leg between the ladder and slams it down some more.

Cole rightfully points out that this is a good strategy because it makes it difficult for him to climb the ladder later on.

Triple H tries a figure four woven through the ladder but it doesn't look like it's on right. It wasn't, and they never showed a camera angle that would have showed that. Trips released the hold before they had to stall any longer.

Nash makes his comeback and now he's the one doing the damage to Triple H. Sets up Trips for a great spot in the corner with the ladder set up between the ropes and Nash springboarding his head into it.

Nash is moving slow as all get-out, likely because he's dead tired. It works, though, because he's selling the knee "The Game" was working on earlier. They probably set that up beforehand just to make sure they could pull this match off.

Nash sets the announce table up for a Jackknife but Trips reversed with a backbody drop that looked ugly. While Nash recovers on the outside, Trips sets up the ladder in the ring. He climbs quickly but Nash shows up and takes him down.

There are may be 10 rungs on the ladder and Nash is tall enough that he gets up to maybe the seventh or eighth rung. He won't have to climb far, if he does at all.

He gets out of the ring and grabs a table, which he brings in the ring and sets up. When he goes for the Jackknife, Trips drives me through the ladder that is now up in the corner. Hunter picks it up and hits him again, sending him outside the ring.

With Nash out, Trips sets up and climbs again. Nash gets in and now he's climbing on the other side. Trips has the sledgehammer in hand but can't unhook it. He uses it on Nash by hitting him with it and holy shit, Nash goes flying off the ladder and through the table.

Triple H breathes hard and poses before grabbing the sledge. The crowd marks out like he won the match, but this isn't over. He slowly climbs down and Trips pops him in the knee. Hits him quite a few times and Nash is laid out.

Bye bye ladder, no more use for you.

Trips sets up for the Pedigree and Nash's leg gives out on the first attempt. He picks him back up, though, and hits it on the second try. Doesn't try to pin him but instead holds up one finger. The crowd is chanting for one more. He picks up the sledge and Nash sits up and gives him the Kliq sign.

Triple H responds with a DX crotch chop, nails him with the sledge and pins him.

Okay, that was REALLY fuggin fun. I couldn't have been more wrong about this match.

Triple H def. Kevin Nash

Nash does a stretcher job.

Backstage interview with Punk. They cut the video in of Punk getting beat down by Miz and Del Rio on Raw this past Monday. He buries both guys. Then buries Cole, which gets a good pop from the live crowd. Now he's going after John Laurinaitis.

Oh and look who shows up. It's Johnny Ace. They bicker and Johnny Ace actually hits him with a good one. "I'm going to be the bigger man tonight. After all, I am taller than you."

Punk goes out by saying "luck is for losers."

Might be the first time Laurinaitis came out of an exchange between the two looking better.

Jobber match up next.

Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger -- Cole references Swagger having trained him to a WrestleMania victory. Continuity is always a good thing.

Sheamus is just killing Swagger. Not much for blow-by-blow here. You don't even need to be watching to know what's happening in this match.

Swagger makes a comeback and they do a spot with him running his mouth, which leads to Sheamus' version of the hulk up. Crowd is fuggin' dead for this entire ordeal, which is only serving to amplify Vickie's grating voice.

Sheamus just tried to go up top and Swagger sent him out for a nasty spill to the barricade. The ringside fans are shouting at Sheamus to get up because he was "only hit in the leg."

Love it.

"The Great White" finally manages to get up top and hits the shoulder block he was aiming for the first time. Goes for the Brogue Kick but Swagger gets out of the way. Hits his springboard spot in the corner and shortly after he gets the Ankle Lock. That move has the worst counter ever. Rolling and kicking out is something everyone should always do, meaning it's not an effective finisher.

Sheamus gets up, Brogue Kick, pin.

Sheamus def. Jack Swagger

Backstage interview with Big Show, who gets his chance to cut a good promo. He falls far short.

Close to an hour left in the show and the two title matches are all that's left. World heavyweight championship up for grabs first. Chairs match.

Mark Henry vs. Big Show -- Somebody gonna get they ass kicked, guys. Somebody gonna get they wig split, too. Show is in the ring shadow boxing while Henry walks out with his left ankle still wrapped. \

The bell rings and Show drops down and gets out of the ring just to start chucking chairs in. Henry just stands there staring at him. Show must have thrown at least 15 chairs in there. "Now you gonna get some payback."

We'll see, big man.

Show walks in carrying a chair and now it's Henry's turn to get out. He yells at Big Show that he's crazy and "out cho mind. Give me my title, this ain't happening." He walks out with it, or starts to, and Show chases him down with a chair. Henry turns to hit him with the belt but Show ducks and starts unloading with chair shots.

Henry attacks Show's hand, with Cole again playing it right by saying it's the smart thing to do because that's the hand Show uses for the WMD.

Both guys grab a chair and swing at the same time. The chairs collide and it makes a nice sound. Henry works him over and while Show gets a short comeback, Henry is just going to town now. "Welcome to the Hall of Pain."

Henry picks him up and acts like he wants a bodyslam. Show battles out and threatens a choke slam. No go. Henry with a chair threatens but Show hits him with the WMD. Show turns him over and ... wha?!?!? That's the pin. Wow. Ludicrous booking.

Big Show def. Mark Henry to become new world heavyweight championship

Henry lays Show out with a DDT on a chair and oh shit, it's Daniel Bryan. he comes out and covers Show.

1!

2!

3!

He got it! He got it! He got it!

Daniel Bryan cashes in Money in the Bank and def. Big Show to become new world heavyweight champion

Bryan immediately runs over and gets in Cole's face, asking him if he's got anything to say now. Awesome. Crowd is loving all this.

Show is still in the ring, and he looks like he's not even really all that mad. He's staring at Bryan and just kind of shaking his head.

They're going to go ahead with the IC title match after all.

Cody Rhodes vs. Booker T -- Rhodes is out first, which isn't so odd, I guess. Booker comes out with a head of steam and dominates early but Rhodes quickly climbs back in and starts working his foe over.

Eventually, they hit simultaneous clotheslines and the ref counts all the way to eight before they get back up. They trade punches back and forth with the crowd coming alive. Cheer for Book, boo for Cody. Booker gets the advantage and hits a spinebuster.

Rhodes rolls over to the bottom rope and it's time for the spin-a-roonie. The crowd loves it. That was a ridiculously slow move. Scissors kick misses and Rhodes hits the Beautiful Disaster. Near fall shortly after and Rhodes is getting that look.

Another kick off the ropes and that one gets the pinfall.

Cody Rhodes def. Booker T to retain the Intercontinental championship

A couple recap video packages and it's time for the main event.

CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz -- Not a lot of heat to go around so far. Miz and Del Rio come out to little reaction. Punk gets a nice welcome.

It's clobberin' time.

Punk does the Wanderlei Silva hand roll. The crowd very loudly chants his name while he eggs them on. The bell rings and Punk works Miz then Del Rio then Miz then Del Rio again before they take over and work him.

God, I already hate Miz in this match. Every time he bends down and gets that dumb look on his face, I want to punch him in the lip.

The crowd starts chanting something that sounds like, "we want ice cream." This is entertaining them more than watching what's actually happening in the ring, which is the old school triple threat psychology. The two heels work together to beat on the babyface until they finally decide to turn on each other. The former is ongoing while we wait for the latter.

And there is it.

They go out to get some hardward and ADR nails Miz with a chair. Punk comes out and goes after Del Rio with a mini-ladder. Grabs Miz and sends him in the ring while collecting a chair. He doesn't get the chance to use it, though, because Miz immediately gets up and starts working him.

Chair ends up set up in the center of the ring. Punk hits the knee in the corner and tries to follow with the usual bulldog spot, this time on top of the chair but Miz counters and sends Punk through it on his back. That looked rough.

Outside Miz goes and he gets back body dropped on a ladder. While Del Rio struggles with a ladder, Punk is back up in the ring, waiting for him. Slides out and gets a few kicks on it. They brawl a bit more and tease a few different table spots, none of which ever come to fruition.

Miz finally makes his way over and eats multiple title shots. Ends up laid against the barricade, where Punk runs over and delivers a knee into the crowd.

And they chant. C-M PUNK. C-M PUNK. C-M PUNK.

Punk goes flying up the ladder to grab the title hanging above the ring and Ricardo Rodriguez shows up. Punk comes down to deal with it and ends up handcuffed to the ladder. ADR is in and after pounding on Punk for a minute, Del Rio climbs the ladder. Punk smashes the ladder and his handcuffs come free.

LOL.

Sorry, but that was a horrible spot. Pointless.

Del Rio gets hit with the ladder and he bails to the outside. This gives Miz time to show up again and he's got a big ass ladder with him. He uses it to blast Punk before setting up to climb it. He gets up about halfway before Punk brings him back down.

Miz and Punk set up in the corner on the top rope and Del Rio hits a kick to the head that sends Miz to the outside and Punk crashing through a table that was already set up.

Del Rio goes after Miz, who is obviously much better off after that. He sets up the Cross Armbreaker through a ladder and works it for about 30 seconds before getting up and grabbing a few chairs. He takes them over and starts working Punk with them. This leads to his locking in the Cross Armbreaker through a chair on Punk.

At this point, it's finally time to climb in the ring and go up the ladder, which is already conveniently set up.

He does indeed go in and he's at the top. Both Punk and Miz get in the ring and send him spilling over, racking himself on the top rope. He blew them both up pretty bad, that was horrible how quick they recovered.

With Del Rio out of the ring, Punk and Miz go at it and hit each other with a double clothesline.

Everyone is down in the ring and because of this, Ricardo Rodriguez tries to climb the ladder. He gets to the top and Punk and Miz lift the ladder up just enough for him to fall onto a table that was set up outside the ring.

Nasty spill.

The refs check on him and I don't see and X sign.

Punk and Miz both threaten their finishers but nobody gets one. Punk tries a shoulder block in the corner and hits the post. Miz takes the opportunity to lock in Punk's handcuffs on the post.

Miz gives him the goofiest look I've ever seen. This man is the worst. Ugh.

Punk can't reach him with his hands but he does land a kick to the head that puts Miz down.

He's trying to figure out how to get his handcuffs off while Del Rio sets up another ladder. Miz is back up and setting an even bigger ladder up. The crowd chants for Punk, who actually unscrews the buckle. Now they're all up on the ladders and battling.

Miz goes down first and Del Rio switches ladders. He hits Del Rio off and the title is right there. Miz brings him down, though, and he shoots up. Punk drags him off and hits the GTS.

He rolls out of the ring and Punk is flying up the ladder.

He grabs the title and he's the winner.

CM Punk def. Alberto Del Rio and The Miz to retain the WWE championship

Punk celebrates in the ring as Cole reminds us of everything that happened during this surprisingly good pay-per-view.

End.
