That was awesome! (clap clap clapclapclap): King Tonga shocks Poughkeepsie by slamming Big John Studd
Long before Tursas got bodyslammed by Green Ant in CHIKARA and even a few years before Lex Luger picked up and slammed Yokozuna on the dock of the USS Intrepid, "Big" John Studd was walking around the WWF claiming that no man could take him off his feet and put him on his back.
Wrestlers from every corner of the locker room would come out and try to earn $10,000 -- the amount Bobby "The Brain" Heenan put up as a reward -- but no one could manage the feat. One night in New York, two men tried to accomplish the task but even with their combined strength, they couldn't get the big man down.
But thank goodness for the Tongans!
As requested by Cageside's own Jesse Holland, here's King Tonga aka Haku aka Meng aka Prince Tonga aka King Haku bodyslamming the un-bodyslammable (?) Studd.
As Holland said, the best part of the video has to be King's chop and kick freakout post-bodyslam.
It's a good thing he was royalty, though, seeing as how Heenan refused to pony up the 10 G's.
What a weasel.

You never disappoint.

Maybe because this is more or less before my time,
but John Studd doesn’t look as impressive as to be “unslammable”.
