Just when you thought TNA morale couldn't sink any lower, Hulk Hogan recently had to open his big mouth on Twitter again. In doing the media rounds to promote October's Bound For Glory PPV, Hogan caused locker room unrest by dissing two of TNA's homegrown stars in Bobby Roode and AJ Styles, outright questioning their marketability and verbal ability.
Clearly not having learnt his lesson, a couple of weeks ago Hogan made this super ill-advised tweet:
Taping again in Orlando,Garrett seems to have found the magic,I only hope it rubs off on some of the other numbskulls. HH
Yes, Hogan is extolling the virtues of Eric Bischoff's green as a grasshopper son, who is getting a big push so very soon in his career, one that everyone else in the company would die for, merely thanks to nepotism. That would be bad enough, but he also had to lambast every other young performer in the company as a brain dead idiot.
As Dave Meltzer reported in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this had the expected effect of further souring the mood of TNA's rank and file workers:
The Hogan comments last week ... got pretty much the reaction you would expect from most. It was described as a real morale kick in the balls at a time when a lot of the talent is already halfway going through the motions due to a lack of confidence in leadership.
Anyone else getting a strong case of déjà vu? I suppose that's what happens when you hand power to the two men arguably most responsible for the death of WCW!
