Hulk Hogan files lawsuit against Linda Hogan for defamation

Photo

As if Hulk Hogan couldn't become any more of a mess, and his life any more of a headline, the kind-of-but-not-really retired pro wrestler is suing his ex-wife, Linda, for defamation.

The lawsuit stems from Linda's book, Wrestling the Hulk (read a full review right here), and the fact that she made claims within it and in subsequent interviews promoting it that defame Hogan's character. Of the many allegations she's levied against her former husband are that he abused her by choking her and he cheated on her with Ed Leslie, of all people, better known as Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

Yes, Linda Hogan claimed Hulk Hogan had a sexual relationship with another man.

Hogan's lawsuit states that each one of Linda's claims are false and they have "harmed the reputation of Mr. Bollea, exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule."

Here's what the Hulkster's lawyer had to say (via TampaBay.com):

Star-divide

"He's being accused of all sorts of vile conduct that he did not commit. Miss Bollea's made enough of these outrageous allegations that it's time they stop. The only realistic way of making them stop is through the court system."

Hogan is saying Linda wrote the book simply as a way to keep herself in the spotlight because as soon as she divorced him, her claim to fame was gone and that was that. The next best thing, of course, would be to profit off him by burying him at every turn.

Mission accomplished.

All this comes just a couple weeks after Linda was awarded 70-percent of the couple's liquid assets in the divorce settlement.

For his part, Hulk had this to say to TMZ:

"We live in a country where if you defame people or discriminate against them, you can do something about it. The whole thing's ridiculous. You can't lie, you can't discriminate, you can't defame people and act like a bully. I'm sick of it."

He's hulking up, ladies and gents. But by the time it's all said and done will Hulkamania still be running wild? And will Linda finally just go away?

Stay tuned.

I fucking hate so many things about Hulk Hogan

and the various bullshit moves he’s pulled in the pro wrestling world but I begrudgingly have to admit, I kinda like that movie.

Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.

Guh.

Say what you want about the Hulkster. There is NO way that Linda should be entitled to 70% of the assets he worked for. If you want to be totally ridiculous you can award her 50% as if she did half the brand building and hard work that Hulk did. But it is so depressing to see that this guy has worked as long and as hard as he has, and see 70% of that go to someone who just wants to rip him apart anyways. Like I said, say what you want about the guy, but that just isn’t right.
