On this date in WCW history: Goldberg jackhammers The Giant on Monday Nitro
Say what you want about Goldberg ... that shit's impressive.
On November 23, 1998, Goldberg jackhammered The Giant on WCW Monday Nitro to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. It wasn't the first time he executed this finisher on the artist currently known as The Big Show, but it's impressive nonetheless.
More or less impressive than when he jackhammered Mark Henry? Check that one out after the jump and let's hear what you think.
Anyone think he could have jackhammered Yokozuna?

From the ever-insightful youtube commentators, it wasn’t a match. It was funny though, the ref looked like he was about to start the count.

Er..so it was a match but ended prematurely due to DQ. The jackhammer came after it…

The Giant was way more impressive
Longer stall at the top, which is what always made the Jackhammer so cool to watch.

Loved Goldberg.. his intensity is what made me a big fan. When he jackhammered The Giant… I freaked. at 7’ 450# myself.. I’ve never had anyone pick me up.. I met Big Show eventually.. and would reflect on what it would be like to take that move… I just cannot fathom it.. but must admit.. he certainly could.

Never liked Goldberg too much
I did at first, but with his undefeated streak getting larger and larger, it started feeling too artificial to me, at the age of 10. I always liked the Jackhammer, though. Cool move.

Gotta say, that chokeslam by Giant was pretty impressive, too
Goldberg is no lightweight, and he gave him some good airtime.

That match with Show was the shits
but the Jackhammer was great. Awesome job by both guys to make it work.
The Henry Jackhammer was garbage.
Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.
You have to give it to Big Show as well. It takes a lot for a normal sized guy to keep straight up in the air to take the jackhammer correctly. Show sold the whole thing better than I imagined.

Agree and that Henry jack hammer was very weak. When in doubt go with the crowd reaction. Place went bananas when Goldberg got show up in the air

I was a total Goldberg mark when he was in WCW
Still boggles my mind he was the only homegrown megastar WCW produced during the Monday Night Wars.

First post
Hey, been reading for a while but this is my first post. this site with its insightful articles and responses has really helped me appreciate pro wrestling on a whole new level after a long sabbatical away from it. Just a shame that Raw and Smackdown aren’t up to much at the moment.
I’m not sure if anyone can help me out here, I know Goldberg injured bret hart but didn’t he also injure a bunch of other wrestlers?
Yes, but not wrestlers as notable as Bret Hart
Goldberg had a rotation of 4-6 jobbers he’d beat on TV and House Shows and those guys probably suffered more injuries than anyone in wrestling from Goldberg. In fact I haven’t seen or heard about any of them since that time.
