On this date in WWF history: Bret Hart pins Diesel to win the WWF Championship at Survivor Series
On November 19, 1995, Bret Hart defeated Diesel via small package to win the WWF Championship in a No Disqualification match at Survivor Series.
From WWE.com:
The Excellence of Execution was merciless. He tied Diesel's ankles around the ring post with a cable and demolished his legs with a steel chair. Diesel somehow got out of the predicament and used the same cable to choke out the Hit Man. Moments later Diesel knocked Bret off the apron, sending him crashing through the announce table. It's very common nowadays for the announce table not to make it through a pay-per-view event, but this was one of the first times such an incident occurred. Diesel brought Bret back into the ring and tried to give him the Jackknife Powerbomb, but Bret was able to hook him in a small package for the shocking win and the WWE Championship. Diesel showed his frustrations after the match by leaving Bret for dead after two monstrous powerbombs.
Aside from one of the stiffest small packages in main event history, what did you think of this match?

Love this finish
Its amazing what a lost art it is to craft matches where both face and heel can leave satisfied and propel them into future storylines- no burials necessary.
Also, spot on commentary and foreshadowing by JR and Mr. Perfect.

Was this the best WWF title change match to that point in history? I think for me it was. The other contenders (Warrior/Hogan, Royal Rumble ’92, Flair/Savage I) fall short of this one for various reasons. The last 5 minutes of this match are just spectacular, and totally different from what we have come to expect from WWF/E main event style.
Nash gets a lot of well-deserved crap, but he could absolutely play the broomstick for a great worker, and play it better than most (note how well he sells the leg).
Trying to think of the title change that finally topped this one. Looking through the history of the title (and I’ll admit I have a very fuzzy recollection of most of the post-Attitude title changes), was it the best WWF/E title change ever until Cena/Punk at MITB?
Note that this is purely for the WWF/E title. If you’re including the World Heavyweight title, I’d say the triple threat match at WM XX was when it was dethroned as best.
