TNA Turning Point 2011 match card (Complete)

Photo

After last night's (Nov. 10) episode of Impact Wrestling, we now have the complete TNA Turning Point 2011 match card for the pay-per-view (PPV) event taking place this Sunday, Nov. 13 from the Impact Zone in Florida.

Yes, there's actually a TNA PPV this weekend.

They've done a laughably bad job of promoting this show but that could be because they waited until the go-home show to actually announce the heavyweight championship match. To make matters worse, that match is apparently in jeopardy thanks to an ankle injury suffered by the guy who is supposed to challenge for the belt.

Nevertheless, all systems go with the following match card:

-- Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett
-- Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship
-- Mexican America vs. Ink Inc for the Tag Team Championships
-- Crimson vs. Matt Morgan
-- Rob Van Dam vs. Christopher Daniels in a No Disqualification match
-- Mr. Anderson and Abyss vs. Bully Ray and Scott Steiner
-- Austin Aries vs. Jesse Sorensen vs. Kid Kash for the X-Division Championship
-- Eric Young vs. Robbie E for the Television Championship
-- Bobby Roode vs AJ Styles for the Heavyweight Championship

I'm sure TNA will go ahead with Roode vs. Styles even if they shouldn't. The only saving grace to that is the fact that Roode, even if they completely rushed the turn, has become an awesome heel that I would actually pay money to watch.

The rest of the card looks like the usual Impact affair. Anyone shelling out the coin to watch this one live? Or is this a find-a-stream kind of show?

This Reeks of WCW...

I recently re-read “The Death of WCW” and this sounds strikingly similar to the woes that befell WCW late in the game. There was one instance of the PPV provider having zero information about a PPV in advance because the entire card was kept secret out of fear that people wouldn’t order if they knew the matches.

I think TNA has made some steps in the right direction—albeit some very rushed steps—but they’ve got to work on making people actually care about the product and (more importantly) the PPVs if they expect to survive.

Since the last PPV we’ve seen two World Title changes and a big-time heel turn, all on free TV. What’s to make anyone want to order this PPV, especially with zero build up for it?!
