On this date in WWF history: Arnold Schwarzenegger terminates Triple H on Smackdown

On November 11, 1999, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) brought Hollywood action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger onto Thursday night Smackdown! to promote his craptacular new movie, End of Days.

The segment, which was actually taped on November 9, featured a series of cheesy spots that had Ah-nuld intermittently mingling with the WWF roster, but the high water mark came in the main event, when he bitch-slapped Triple H to close out the show.

If his choreography was any stiffer, Mike Chioda would've been throwing up the "X" sign.

The rest of us were just throwing up.

Any Cagesiders out there remember face-palming their way through this "special attraction?" Or were you still stuck in 80's mode and marking out for the last action hero?

The thing that stuck out the most to me was how much better Michael Cole is as just a normal commentator. The announce team did a great job of putting over the action and hyping the PPV. Both of those components are missing now.

I miss the Rock stomps.

And i think Austin came in the end to make sure that AARNOLD does not knock the Game out.

Pretty much every movement of The Rock’s body had some well-practiced swagger attached to it. The man really went out of his way to add a little something more to everything he did. His body language is always amazing to watch.

Arnold’s line “This is extraordi—” brought it all back suddenly in total recall. Made me laugh just like back then. I didn’t mind Arnold’s interaction with he wrestlers. His ducking Triple H and then chopping him is spot on. Arnold’s like Mike Tyson, one of those celebrities that fits in the WWF/E world.

Bitchslap with authority

That was vicious. Arnold knows how to keep people in check. WWE should bring back The Godfather and have a pimp slap match.
