On this date in WCW history: The Giant falls off the roof of the Cobo Arena and into the Detroit River
And not only does he live to tell about it, he comes back (completely dry) to defeat Hulk Hogan for the world title just minutes later in the main event of WCW's Halloween Havoc.
Why was The Giant on the roof of the Cobo Arena?
Because he was having a sumo monster truck match against the Hulkster, of course, and tried to send Hulkamania to the bottom of the river on October 29, 1995. Unfortunately he lost his footing and did that whole arms-circling-whoa-whoa-I'm-falling bit.
Yes Miz, really.
I'm all for no-selling a bump when you're booked as a monster, but how do you no-sell a fifty foot plunge into a rocky river bank in the middle of Detroit? At night?
Thank god the nWo was less than a year away.
Alright Cagesiders, let's have it. Where do you rank this angle in your pro wrestling hall of shame? Anyone ready to come forward and say they enjoyed it?
Anyone?

Oh Tony Schiavonne, you’re bad, but I feel sorry for you having to try and sell this as serious business.

This is some great wrestlecrap!
Monster truck battle morphing into man against man! Hogan running like a diva “Oh no! Help! Help!”
Hogan’s just killed a man and he’s all casual with the surfer talk:
“You know something brothers? What just happened out there wasn’t supposed to go down, man. I didn’t want The Giant to take the plunge, brother. That’s a long way down to the parking lot… "
And the Yetaaay (!) humping wrestlers!
“You will never see a PPV like this again! You can bet on that!”
Vince Russo wasn’t even booking this! He does get blamed for a style he did not quite invent.
Well in Hulk’s defense he’d killed so many wrestlers throughout his career he was probably just desensitized by that point.
It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.

OMG! They shaved Terry's mustache!
Wow, I remember this drivel. And damn you for making me remember.
Release...the KITTIES!
Heenan is still one of trhe greatest promo cutters
After watching what he says, it really does speak volumes about the Huckster. This comes to no surprise since he’s been doing it since the WWF days but what he says is just great since it’s pretty much what smarter fans think of him today. Anyways DOD = Worst faction in the history of wrestling. End of story.
you're own stupidity will lead you to your own downfall

Bobby's face palm after Eric's response was classic.
“Which side did he land on?”
“Well, there’s a parking lot on one side and a river on the other. What’s the difference?”
FACEPALM.

WWF gets a bad rep, but, ugh, WCW was the worst...
