On this date in WWF history: The Brood is born
On October 26, 1998, Gangrel was squashed by Kane. Business as usual, no question, but after the match, Edge and Christian came to the ring to attack "The Big Red Machine" and the vampire faction known as "The Brood" was born.
It didn't last, as Edge and Christian became the hot new tag team, eventually pushing Matt and Jeff Hardy into their roles as the "New Brood."
That didn't last either, but at least they had a kick-ass entrance, which you can watch after the jump.
Any Brood fans out there in Cageside country?

Also, I forgot about Taker “abducting” Stephanie McMahon.

I liked the Brood
Nothing like wrestling vampires, you know?

In the new "Fred" movie on Nickelodeon, Fred and his Dad (played by John Cena) have a fantasy sequence match against two vampires (played by non-wrestlers, BTW) and the Brood music was used for their entrance. The ring has the Smackdown apron but I don’t remember reading about this scene being shot during a Smackdown taping. I’m surprised there wasn’t a riot.
Dude
My kid keeps replaying that fucking show. I can’t stand that Fred kid screaming every second.
It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.

I would rather eat glass than listen to that little shit scream like he does.
Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.
To me, there always need to be three bad tropes for wrestling to be successful:
An evil Russian wrestler
An evil Middle Eastern wrestler
An undead vampire, necromancer, whatever

Always loved that, especially the music.

If Gangrel were as talented as E&C
… it really could’ve gone somewhere. Ah well… I loved that entrance though.
Now, "wait 'till next year" looks like "Watch out for next year!" GO LEAFS GO!
Edge was so convincing as a vampire
I think it had something to do with his great set of gnashers and blonde streaks in his hair
I was talking to some friends yesterday & who was the best tag team out of these 4? E&C, The Hardyz, The Dudleys, or The New Age Outlaws. They all went with NAO but I went with E&C. I would of loved to see a long feud between the two teams
E&C were easily the most entertaining
They were comedy in wrestling done right.
