We knew Mick Foley was coming back to WWE, we just didn't know when. And while he very well may appear sooner than Nov. 14, that's the first date he's been advertised for by the company.
If that date sounds somewhat familiar to you that's because it's the very same night The Rock will return to Raw for what's being billed as his reunion show. It also represents the go-home show to Survivor Series, so this one is going to be a big deal.
Perhaps we're in for "This is your Life" version two?
The booking possibilities are endless but the real question is whether or not Foley will end up involved in a match. Maybe not on Raw but current plans call for The Rock and John Cena to team up with a group of babyfaces against a group of heels for a traditional Survivor Series match at the pay-per-view event on Nov. 20, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
That's right, the very same arena that holds so much significance to Foley's career.
I have no inside sources telling me that he'll find himself alongside The Rock and Cena on the babyface team but I can certainly see a case being made for it come showtime. Pay-per-view buyrates are still down and while "The Great One" will surely provide a shot in the arm, Foley can only help matters.
His health is still an obvious concern but seeing as it would be a 5-on-5 match, he could be easily protected by crafty booking. After outright admitting he believes he's suffered permanent brain damage thanks to a long career of strong style working and taking crazy bumps, I would never endorse Foley participating in another match but if he's absolutely going to do it, it would be nice if he did so in the safest situation possible.
