The next TNA Knockout?
Back in 2009, former wife of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Kim Couture, was recruited by TNA for an angle with Tara that they ran with at Bound for Glory in which the struggling mixed martial artist interrupted Tara's match in an angle that was a work designed to look like a shoot.
Tara had been building a feud with her that was supposed to culminate in an actual fight between the two but the handling of the entire situation was botched, there was no follow up and, ultimately, nothing ever came to be. Couture went right back to MMA and Tara continued her career with TNA.
Now, in an interview with Sportstown Chicago, Couture says she's been approached by TNA again ... but she also mentioned current Strikeforce Women's Featherweight Champion Cristiane Santos has been approached as well.
"Cyborg" briefly flirted with the idea of going into business with WWE earlier this year when things looked bleak as far as getting a new deal done with Strikeforce. However, she did eventually come to terms and is now locked down with a Zuffa contract that surely won't allow her to double dip, no different than they won't let Brock Lesnar double dip despite allowing him to be in the WWE '12 video game.
Couture, of course, is a different story and considering the nature of her fledgling mixed martial arts career, making her way to TNA might not be the worst thing for her, at least as far as a paycheck goes.
Then again, we are talking about TNA.
