Despite Legal Troubles, Chael Sonnen to Return to Action at UFC 128 Against Yoshihiro Akiyama

Just as news comes out that Chael Sonnen is in serious legal trouble, his next fight is unofficially announced, and set just ten days prior to his sentencing.

According to MMA Junkie, the legally troubled Chael Sonnen is expected to fight quite soon, at UFC 128 against Yoshihiro Akiyama. UFC 128 takes place in Newark, N.J. on March 19th, just 10 days prior to his sentencing in his money laundering case. Sonnen has a loyal following of anti-fans, and I'm thinking the money laundering is just going to turn him into a mega-heel.

He is painted as a liar, a crook, just a plain old bad guy...but he can kick your ass. Going into this fight with Akiyama, I expect he'll be spouting out all sorts of absurd statements, but he's going to be able to plow right through the judoka and back up everything he says. We'll see if the UFC continues to push him, I'm betting that they will, and Dana White will roll with the punches. Looks like Chael Sonnen won't be having a hard time paying this $10,000 fine.

$10k is that it?

He still has money left over for his fight of the night bonus I’d imagine.
