Well, I understand Pettis getting the shot to unify the belts, but without it, I agree, he would have to beat some top competition before a shot. Guida is on a good streak now, but I agree there too, he’s lost every time he’s taken the step up. A title shot for Pettis with a win over Guida is a stretch, but not so much of one that I’d take issue with it. A shot for Guida though would feel…weird.

Depends on if the WEC title is on the line. I’m thinking theres more pros than cons on keeping the WEC title around, 25 minutes, promotional value, building towards their eventual title shot against Edgar/Maynard. If they go with keeping the title alive one extra fight here, then he’d have to get a shot, but if not, then Guida needs to go win one more good fight.
