Gray Maynard retweeted someone who sent him a petition to bring Paul Daley back to the UFC. Clicking the link takes you to the page where you can give your signature. Here is how it reads:

Show your support for Paul "Semtex" Daley, to see him return to the UFC.
"This petition calls for the return of Paul Daley in the UFC. Over four months have passed since the incident which led to Paul Daley being released from the UFC. We [the undersigned], like to see Paul Daley compete in the UFC on the grounds that he is a talented exciting fighter, who aims to finish fights. We believe Paul "Semtex" Daley's return to the UFC would result in a significant increase of interest in the UFC from world wide fighting fans and in particular the British audience."

Karo Parisyan was recently let back into the organization after Dana White said that he would never fight there again. Can Daley make his way back too?

Only if he has to fight Gareth A. Davis first.

You have got to be kidding me...

…let Daley back in? F no! Just as I think that letting Margarito (who I used to be a fan of) fight again is outrageous and ridiculous, I think that Daley should never be let back into the UFC…hell, he shouldn’t be allowed to fight again, either…what he did is seriously dangerous…a full force hit from a pro when you are distracted? That could seriously injure somebody, and shouldn’t be passed over.

And don’t tell me that the stupid 30 day suspension was punishment enough…somebody needs to punch in the face each and every one of the idiots who voted for that.

While I'm not as strongly opposed to you as you

I do agree in principle. He shouldn’t be let back in. Everyone makes mistakes but some mistakes you just don’t get a second chance for. This is one of them.

I think that your point is correct (he shouldn’t be allowed back into the UFC), but I don’t think you should hold Margarito and Daley on the same level.

What Margarito did was way worse – entering into a 12 round boxing match with loaded gloves is a lot more dangerous than attempting a cheap shot after the fight.

Would it be different if

he had landed that cheap shot cleanly? Koscheck blocked most of it and just smiled. What if he really got popped? What then?

I’m not saying that its right, I’m just saying that going 12 rounds with loaded gloves is potentially a lot more damaging than popping off a cheap shot after the bell. Regardless, he shouldn’t be allowed back into the UFC.

Parisyan AND Daley

Also, the circumstances are a really different. Parisyan never attacked anyone after a UFC fight. Parisyan does have drug and psychological issues, but if Zuffa loves you, they’ll give you a lot of chances.

Joe Silva and Dana White (despite what White said last year) have had an intense love for Karo Parisyan that they rarely have for most fighters like Paul Daley. Also, UFC and everyone else considers Parisyan vs Diaz and Parisyan vs Sanchez amongst the greatest fights in UFC history (apparently, Dana told Parisyan he would have a job for life after the Sanchez fight). Not to mention, Parisyan’s hybrid style of judo and catch wrestling is one of a kind and exciting. I’m happy they are giving Parisyan one more chance, since if he actually does clean himself up, he is an awesome fighter to have around.

"Caol Uno was like Mutoh. He developed into a star overseas and then returned to his home country a much bigger deal. Dokonjonosuke Mishima is like Kobashi because they both do moonsaults. Don Frye is like Stan Hansen because they are both fat dumb rednecks with mustaches." - Jonathan Snowden

Agreed.

I’m cool with Parisyan being back in the UFC. He’s got issues, yes, but we all do and as long as he’s trying to help himself then there should be no problems with bringing him back in.

My problem with Karo coming back

is that he is so damned boring when his head isn’t on right, and his head hasn’t been on right with any consistency.

Daley needs to make some public displays of contrition, which I doubt he’s capable of due to his personality. He needs anger management, community service and stuff like that before the public would accept him back. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to have him do, but it would almost certainly earn him another shot somewhere along the way.

If I was a hungry man with a gun in my hand and some promises to keep...
