Joe Lauzon Would Like to Rematch Kenny Florian

Photo

In an interview with Fighters Only Joe Lauzon revealed that he would love a rematch with Kenny Florian:

FO: What would your dream fight be at this stage?

"My dream fight… I don’t know, I just kind of take things one fight at a time but I suppose it would be Kenny Florian, I would like to avenge that one and we’re both from Boston, things like that. I’d love to get back at Stout now. Really anyone I lost to in the past I would love to get a hold of."

After what Lauzon did to Gabe Reudigar at UFC 118 and with what happened to Kenny Florian later in the evening, that's a matchup that the UFC might be smart to make. There's been a lot of talk regarding what to do with Florian and they could capitalize on this one now. They originally fought at UFC Fight Night 13 in April of 2008 with Florian taking a dominant TKO victory in what ended up being awarded Fight of the Night. That was actually the same card that Gray Maynard defeated Frank Edgar on. Maybe they could book both fights on the same event for the second time.

I would enjoy watching that rematch.

I’ll say at the outset that I really don’t like Florian’s unrestricted use of elbows to the top/back of the head. I’m not a fan, although he’s probably the better fighter today, but I think Lauzon would be really pumped for the rematch.

I'm not so sure...

A rematch is what Lauzon is ready for.

Yeah, Lauzon looked awesome and Florian looked awful at 118 but it was against Gabe Ruediger and Gray Maynard.

Seriously, has anyone not looked badass finishing off Gabe? And who the hell has looked good against Lay and Praynard?

You gotta keep in mind that Lauzon lost to Sam Stout earlier this year. While Stout is a nice guy and an exciting fighter, he’s no world beater.
