The latest on Matt Hardy from Dave Meltzer

The more Matt Hardy talks, the less sympathetic he comes across.

From Meltzer's Saturday news update:

For whatever this is worth, I don't know if this is the general viewpoint, but a very large percentage of people in the industry right now believe Matt Hardy at this point is in complete work mode in attempting to get a release.  Literally everyone I've spoken with on him in the last two days when the subject comes up says, "So, is it a work or not?"  Not a work in the sense that anyone thinks WWE is working some angle with him, but that he's working his own angle at this point.  If it's legit, then hopefully he can take care of it.  Disasociative (sic) Identity Disorder is the same malady that Herschel Walker has suffered from.

We here at Cageside Seats were of the belief that his last couple of videos were works to goad WWE into releasing him from his contract so he can go to TNA, which is the same conclusion most insiders have come to as well.  Meltzer didn't say this, but he should have done, so I will repeat it loud and clear.  If it is all a charade, then there's something really disgusting about Matt Hardy taking the real life drug addiction and mental health issues of dead wrestlers (Eddie Guerrero, Chris Kanyon and Luna Vachon all suffered from bipolar disorder which people with dissociative identity disorder are often misdiagnosed with, Chris Benoit and Andrew "Test" Martin suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) before their deaths, we all know how the Brian Pillman story ended, etc etc), and aping them to get his WWE contract release and build up a cult following.  If it isn't legit, then hopefully WWE won't grant him his wish and forces him to sit at home until he stops acting like a petulant, self indulgent, attention seeking, fantasist brat who won't shut up until he gets his own way.

Worth noting Matt is now schilling his DVDs every second video he posts.

Yes, wrestlers using mental problems as a gimmick, this IS a new low in wrestling.
