One of the really great stars of the pro wrestling universe.

Glad to see him out on his own terms, though.

I believe him for the most part on the wish list part of the video. Its not ever going to happen but I bet at one point he wanted to wrestle The Rock. Rock had talked about it but he was to busy making movies. That’s probably the only match that will upset me that I didn’t get to see since I liked both wrestlers a lot.

That match would have been incredible. I wonder if he would come back and do one more for it at Mania.

The Rock turned down wrestling Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXI, just before his business relationship with WWE expired, due to his past backstage problems with him, similar to how Steve Austin wasn’t interested in working with Hulk Hogan when Hogan was lobbying for a match with him in recent years.

I wonder why he said he wanted to have a match with him then when he indutced his father and grandfather into the HOF? I’m not blaming Shawn for it not happening because if The Rock wasn’t making movies I think it might of happened.

Well

when Rock was big around 99 and 2000, HBK was still reportedly causing shit with everyone in the back. He wasn’t an active wrestler but each time they brought him back he alienated more of the locker room at the time. He even had problems with Triple H. So it’s not surprising that Rock wouldn’t have wanted to have a match with him at that time. He could have changed his tune later after burying his issues with Shawn, much like everyone else did, after HBK became a born again Christian.

A semi related note

HBK and Billy Corgan exchanging tweets blows my mind.
