Your List Of The Top 10 Hogan Matches!

In defending John Cena, I made the comment that it would be hard for any wrestling fan to list the top 10 Hogan matches in his career. Your list has to be based on workrate not crowd pops or how many people are in the venue to watch the match. So basically the top 10 singles matches of Hogans career that you consider to be 3 stars or better. Here's my list so far...

1. Hogan vs. HBK

2. Hogan vs. Angle

3. Hogan vs. Savage

4. Hogan vs. Flair

5. Hogan vs. Orton

That is all I can think of for now so have at it and maybe my theory can be debunked!

Hey you stole my pick of Hogan-Warrior Halloween Havoc 98’!

Bazinga!

That’s probably one of his worst matches.

This is ridiculous , if that’s all you could think of, you’re not even trying. In no specific order:

Hulk Hogan vs. Antonio Inoki (IWGP League Final)
Hulk Hogan vs Big Van Vader (Superbrawl V)
Hulk Hogan vs Lanny Poffo (Victator linked this to his blog a few years ago, very unique match)
Hulk Hogan vs Big Bossman (one of the cage matches they had)
Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant (NJPW)
Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage (they had a few I liked)
Hulk Hogan vs Sgt. Slaughter (that great brawl they had)
Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair (a few of the 1990s matches)
Hulk Hogan vs King Kong Bundy (Victator linked to the one I’m talking about in his blog which featured great selling from Hogan’s part)
Hulk Hogan vs Curt Hennig

I’m sure if Victator saw this post, he could probably name a handful of other lesser known gems that Hogan’s produce. Hogan’s not Rey Mysterio Jr. or Negro Casas, but he’s had a nice amount of good matches with a variety of different guys.

"Caol Uno was like Mutoh. He developed into a star overseas and then returned to his home country a much bigger deal. Dokonjonosuke Mishima is like Kobashi because they both do moonsaults. Don Frye is like Stan Hansen because they are both fat dumb rednecks with mustaches." - Jonathan Snowden

I'm no hogan fan

…but the man had many great matches, and a lot of them were great because of their atmosphere. Ranking matches solely on workrate and ignoring the crowd/pops is ridiculous. Believe it or not, 93,000 people didn’t go to the Pontiac Silverdome to see Savage/Steamboat, as much as that might sadden the wrestling purist in you.

Crowds/pops are part of wrestling and wrestlers who draw and earn those pops shouldn’t be discounted because they don’t/can’t chain wrestle.
