WWE signs ROH World champion Tyler Black to a developmental deal
Dave Meltzer broke the news in his Sunday update:
--ROH champion Tyler Black has agreed to a developmental deal with WWE. We don't have official word, but it's expected he would drop the title within the next five weeks since he starts in FCW in September.
Black being signed by WWE while being ROH's World champion, continues the trend of ROH losing most of the best wrestlers in the company in recent years to WWE and TNA, and won't help their current perception of being "just an indy with a show on an obscure HD network". The favourite to win the belt from Black would be Davey Richards, who was rumored to be promised a ROH World title run in return for screwing over Gabe Sapolsky by leaving Dragon Gate USA and Evolve in favor of making ROH his top priority earlier this year.

I predict Black will debut on the 3rd season of NXT
Freedom is a road seldom traveled by the multitudes...
His ring work is fine...
but they’re gonna have to give him a crash course on rocking the mic. Promos 101 please.
Nice pickup for the WWE. Let’s hope he doesn’t choke anybody out with a tie. :P
RIP, Coach Wooden.
Thank you, Geoff Petrie.
That's the knock on about 95% of the ROH roster.
I was Fifth Year Festival Philly show a few years ago right before the start off that whole gang warfare angle and Davey Richards came out to talk trash on Austin Aries. He went on to say a whole lot of nothing before referring to his faction as the No Remorse Corpse instead of Corps.
Hey, he promptly redeemed himself after that with his pickup line
“You wanna watch bags with me?”
