Late Night Videos - Eddie Guerrero Lies, Cheats and Steals

I really miss Eddie Guerrero. His lie, cheat and steal gimmick was one of the most creative things to ever appear on WWE TV. When he beat Brock Lesnar for the title at No Way Out 2004, I marked out harder than I ever have. It's really a shame that he couldn't handle everything that came with being the world champion. They wanted an extended run for him and before he died it was said that they had plans to put the title back on him. Oh, what could have been. His final match was against Mr. Kennedy on the November 11th edition of Smackdown.

The smile at the 0:13 second mark personified everything about that gimmick that was so ridiculously over at that time. How could you not get into it? As great as it was then, it's just as great now. The WWE didn't give him a big push either. In fact, they were booking him to look weak in matches with Big Show when he initially started to really gain popularity. He got over with the fans solely on his own merits. Enjoy this video of Guerrero's genius in his final match.

God dammit, I'd forgotten that match.

That’s absolutely hilarious. Great stuff.

I disagree he came out of that feud with Show looking strong. Even he lost he showed lots of spirit.

The worst thing about Eddie’s death could be that his widow is now ruining WWE TV. Losing Eddie, even after he lived through so much that should have killed him, was tough. Great article. He was one of those guys that even if you didn’t like him, when he smiled you smiled.

Vicki is ruing WWE TV? Amazing

Word.

I think she’s one of the top heels in a way. She put Edge way over the top and her “Excuse Me!?” entrance gets legit heat these days, unlike secret GM message ding or Drew McIntyre’s entrance (and just plain him).

Vicki is great for the organization.

No question. That love triangle between her, Show and Edge was epic. Disgusting, but epic.
