Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Sflogo

Middle Easy, a site that I love, if you couldn't tell, put up that picture of what appears to be a new Strikeforce logo. Yesterday in their Sunday rumor mill they had this nugget:

"Strikeforce's new logo is part of an overhaul in branding suggested by one of their business partners they recently picked up in 2010. Expect a lot of merchandise to appear in the next few months with this new logo."

If this is in fact the case, then this is a huge step up. The old logo looked tacky and very much like an MMA shirt that some guy in his basement made. This looks much better and I hope to see it take effect sometime soon. What do you think?

It's clever, it has a NFL / NBA / MLB vibe

So the familiarity should help with sports credibility with the media, in that sense. UFC are going the entertainment route with the Gladiator rock show, so maybe SF could go the sporting purity route. This could be a CBS influenced move.

I like the new logo a lot.

It looks major league and I like the use of the six-sided shield to keep in tune with the shape of their cage.

Anything would have been better than the blood splattered wings. I look forward to seeing their site with the new look.
