[Spoilers] Raw Results for next week

Wwe_raw_medium

Next week's Raw was taped in L.A. so we've got some spoilers for you. I'll put them in the extended entry so they aren't directly on the front page. From the written word it appears to be a decent show at best. But there was a big announcement regarding the upcoming Night of Champions PPV. Come with me now after the jump break for the results of the show. Props to WrestlingInc.

Star-divide

Show opens with Sheamus claiming that Orton should never get another shot at the WWE Championship. The mystery GM says to bring a throne out for Sheamus and that he gets to choose his opponent for the night.

  • First match is Edge vs R-Truth. Spear for the win and a few words for Sheamus.
  • Next match is Khali vs Jericho. After the Walls of Jericho gets the win, Jericho calls out Sheamus to pick him for the match. Khali attacks him.
  • Melina defends her Diva's title against Jillian Hall before setting up a match with LayCool at Night of Champions.
  • Backstage segment with The Miz in which he says the only reason he didn't cash in the briefcase at Summerslam was because he was thinking of Team WWE. He wants Cena to pay for crapping on him at Summerslam so a match is set between them for the night.
  • The Nexus make an appearance. More of the ridiculous GM e-mail. Says that Nexus impressed him last week and the ban is lifted regarding title matches. The truce between them and Sheamus is declared over by Wade Barrett.
  • Cena comes on against the Miz with a run in by Daniel Bryan for the DQ. Bryan throws Miz in to Cena for the Attitude Adjustment before locking on the crossface.
  • In the comedy match of the night Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella defeat the Usos.
  • Randy Orton then defeats Ted DiBiase and John Morrison in a triple threat match. Orton laid both guys out with the RKO.
  • Sheamus finally picks his opponent....and it's Zack Ryder. Sheamus kicks him in the face and gets the pin. He tries to say he's going to be taking a month off now. Barrett comes out and wants his title shot from winning NXT. The GM comes in with an announcement that Night of Champions will feature a six-pack challenge in which the WWE title will be defended by Sheamus against Barrett, Orton, Cena, Edge and Jericho. They all gang up to beat up Barrett before turning on each other. Orton takes out Cena with the RKO last.
  • There's the show. Doesn't sound as good as this past week's but could still be great. I love the idea of Barrett being in the main event six-pack match against all those guys at Night of Champions. Smackdown will also be taped and we'll have spoilers for that show too. Unless you guys give us an outpouring of resentment for it. If not, enjoy.

I wonder what this means for the rest of Nexus

I definitely don’t want to Nexus to suddenly absorb every title on Raw but is it really fair to just write off the rest as posers and only have one legitamite guy, I thought they would all get singles action like maybe have one guy feud with Morrison while one feuds with R-Truth, and so on. Because even though I am excited for Barrett because he deserves this oppurtunity, I hope creative finds a way to not just disband the rest of the Nexus members.

"Dawson was NOT a hype job. Dude schooled Adamek, beat Tarver twice (neither competitive), beat Johnson twice (once close, once a wipeout) and even beat Harding when Harding was still good. That is not hype. Those are results. I love how people see a guy lose once and all of a sudden nothing they ever did means anything. You are dead wrong."

    Agreed.

I would love to see them find a way to keep the group together along with giving them singles pushes.

Hard to do. I mean, they have a hard enough time pushing the guys they should be that were already on Raw before the Nexus angle. I can’t imagine them being able to do that and add 8 (Nexus + Young + Danialson) on top of it.

Plus knowing them I fear the guys that they’d push would be Otunga & Skip. Particularily Otunga whose just an awful in-ring worker (IMO) but I have a scary feeling that Vince and Co. see money in him.

He’s got the right look but his ability in the ring and on the mic just don’t add up. He will get the push though, especially with his personal relationships.

Jennifer Hudson performing America The Beautiful at Wrestlemania 27?

Otunga didn’t do much in the tag match, but Skip kinda surprised me as we was not bad at all, I assume his mic work needs some help, but with a look like that, he’ll do fine.

Otunga is so average on the mic, it’s laughable, but hell, I said the same thing about Miz three years ago and now don’t I look like an idiot as he has evolved into the best promo guy in the business. Hopefully Otunga gets better too, cause WWE needs new stars, maybe not as much as TNA, but you get the idea.

I think Skip Sheffield will settle into the role previously occupied by Evolution era Batista: menacing bruiser who is a handful for most on the roster but not quite competitive with the big boys. The dude has really surprised me the past few months.
