TNA did a 1.15 rating for Impact! last night. This shows that the marketing campaign of it being a PPV quality card on free TV had very little, if any, effect on how many people tuned in.
This is also disappointing coming off of the HardCORE Justice PPV. It's too bad that so few saw what turned out to be the best show they have ever put on.

The Impact rating isn’t great. That can maybe be attributed to Jersey Shore getting its highest rating ever, but since impact tends to do well against that show, and they don’t seem to have the same audinece, maybe not.
The reaction rating, an 0.9, was rather impressive though, and they were supposed to be only expecting 0.6 or around that.
I like the Reaction… in theory. Parts of it where great and parts of it made me cringe. I guess it mostly the Abyss stuff. That kind of kayfabe stuff drives me nuts, it’s so unbelievable.

The entire character of Abyss
needs to go away. I hate the whole monster gimmick. It’s never been done well. Undertaker is the only guy who has ever been able to pull off something even close to it.
Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.

As unfondly as it's looked back on...
I think the Biker Taker gimmick did a lot to assuage our disbelief in a “supernatural” character.
He was still a bad ass (an American one at that) but he was human. When he finally went back to Deadman, it was welcome mostly due to nostalgia.
Now, they keep the supernatural elements to a minimum. With Abyss, that’s all there effing is.

Abyss can be remade into a monster
I just think he has to go to WWE to erase all the confusion TNA has saddled him with. Abyss needs a clean palate to work with so he can again become the heel he once was. Abyss and Samoa Joe need to get out of that company as soon as possible.
Freedom is a road seldom traveled by the multitudes...
