UFC on Versus 2 Results: Jon Jones Dominates Vladimir Matyushenko
Vladimir Matyushenko is a veteran MMA fighter. He has been in the ring/cage with some top guys. Tonight, at least in my eyes, he had absolutely no business being in there with Jon Jones. Bones came out early with an awkward stance. Immediately, you could see how much bigger and longer Jones was compared to Vlady. Matyushenko came in with a lazy left hand and Jones ducked under for an early takedown. He then worked to side control and in a matter of seconds had a crucifix on Matyushenko and after raining down a few elbows Herb Dean stopped the fight.
Some might say it was an early stoppage but Vladimir didn't complain in any way afterwards. Dean knew that there was no way Vlady would get out and he did the right thing. It sucks to see a good fighter like Matyushenko look so bad but it really shows that the UFC needs to pick up the pace with Jones. It's time to stop "bringing him along slowly". Joe Rogan commented in the post fight interview that he should be getting a top 10 opponent, something he has never had before. He asked if there was anyone in particular that Bones would like to face. Of course, Jones went the cliche route by saying it didn't matter and he would let Joe Silva handle that.
The hype train continues on with barely a stop here in San Diego at UFC on Versus 2. As the competition gets harder the fights seem to get shorter. His combination of size, strength and speed will be very difficult for anyone in the 205lb division to handle. What's next for him? Maybe the winner of the Rogerio Nogueria-Ryan Bader fight?

They won’t put him against Bader if he wins…the UFC usually tries to avoid having promising young fighters knock each other off the contender’s list.
Which I hate.
I really wish they didn’t do that but I understand why they do.
Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.
