Chael Sonnen is a Troll

Your friend and mine Luke Thomas is covering the UFC 117 conference call for CBS Radio. Of course, over on Bloody Elbow the great Kid Nate provided a very helpful snippet of each tweet that Luke Thomas, among others, gave out regarding the questions and answers given by Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. There are two major things that came out of this for me. One is the fact that Silva either really doesn't like the media or absolutely hates Chael Sonnen. The other is the fact that Sonnen is just downright trolling at this point. Let's break down some of the garbage that spewed from his mouth at the call and again thanks to Kid Nate over at Bloody Elbow for gathering all the tweets. 

MMANation Chael: "I'm the toughest guy in the company. There's never been a guy with earrings who could out-tough me. Anderson won't be the 1st."

Does Jeremy Horn wear earrings? Or Paulo Filho? Or Forrest Griffin? Or Demain Maia? You get the point.

MMANation "I don't believe in this things like sportsmanship and honor." - Chael Sonnen. #UFC117

But of course you don't, Chael. You believe in making ridiculous statements to whoever will listen to you.

MMANation   "I'm going to take his belt on August 7th and Dana's going to fire him on August 8th." - Chael. #UFC117

No, you're not and no, he's not. While it's certainly possible for Sonnen to win this fight there is absolutely no way in hell that Dana White will cut Silva from the promotion. Dana is a lot of things but stupid isn't one of them. At least not when it comes to running his business.

MMANation   Chael insults Cote and Franklin and says Silva hand picks his fight. #UFC117. Honestly, I can't tell if Chael is trolling or believes this.   

He's trolling, Luke. He is definitely beyond just talking shit. He has absolutely no reason to shit talk guys like that. Rich Franklin has always been a stand up guy and one of the best fighters in the world. Anyone who talks shit on his accomplishments is either a troll or uneducated. Guess what category Chael falls into?

MMANation   Chael: I could beat up Anderson in the hotel parking lot, but I want to do it in front of millions on August 7th.

No. Just....no.

MMAspot   Sonnen: Anderson is flat out scary. He's vicious and sharp. He's gonna hurt me, but I can walk through it... and leave with the belt.

Wait a minute. Did Sonnen stop trolling? My god, it looks like he did. Finally he's being honest here. This is kind of refreshing.

MMANation  Chael: "I've accomplished far more than Anderson Silva"

Well, that didn't last long. There is so much wrong with that sentence. Chael Sonnen has not done even half of what Anderson Silva has. In the worlds premiere organization he has not lost in 11 fights. Sonnen has 4 losses in the UFC alone. Anderson has been in the discussion for pound for pound best fighter in the world for years now. Before he started trolling this hard nobody even knew who Sonnen was.

MMAspot   Sonnen: I've beat every champion of every company there's ever been.

Another ridiculously stupid thing to say and one that isn't even close to being true. He can't actually believe this crap, can he?

MikeChiappetta   Chael just said he's dominated every fight he's ever been in "including the one's I've been beaten in." Yes, he really said that!

And that is the icing on the cake. That's how we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Chael Sonnen is a troll. If he's not then he's just an idiot and I don't believe that. He has not even come close to dominating every fight he's ever been in. Here is a gif to give you an example.

Wow, he looked really dominant right there. He really did a great job getting thrown on his head. The part where he looks the most dominant, I think, is where he rapidly taps on Maia's arm begging him to stop choking him out. Yeah, what a strong performance from Sonnen. 

I really hope to see Anderson Silva win this fight at UFC 117. Then we won't have to put up with this anymore. I know there are quite a few people who find it to be highly entertaining and I will admit that he has his moments but it gets old after a while. No matter what I can't wait to see what happens in the fight.
