More new details on the incident that led to the arrest of Ric Flair's wife Jackie Beems

In the newest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported more details on what led to the arrest of Jackie Beems, Ric Flair's wife, for assaulting him last week.  Of note:

  • Flair being offered a ride home by the staff of the sports bar that they were patronizing when he's too drunk to drive is a regular occurrence.
  • Allegedly, when they got home, Jackie brought up his behavior at the bar and slapped him.  He ran into the house and started packing a suitcase.  She followed, punching and kicking him.  He tripped over the suitcase and hit his head on a dresser drawer, opening a gash where he had bladed at a the TNA Impact tapings four days earlier.

I’m still wondering how a common courtesy gesture by a local waitress leads to Jackie getting the huff and slapping him, and Flair packing his bags. At the very least, if the story is true, it’s worrying something so apparently innocuous could lead to such a volatile reaction from both parties. Of course, I’m highly sceptical that we’re getting the whole story given the likely source of Meltzer’s new revelations.

I got the feeling after reading this version of what happened that it was less the waitress offering to be designated driver on its own and more that she was angry that he gets drunk/makes an ass out of himself every time they go out and the waitress offering “again” set her off.
